How to deal with arthritis pain.

Happy New Year EH!

This is my first question.

I have a few conditions but my first question is about arthritis and how others deal with it.

My hands are in constant pain and it makes work and home life quite difficult.

I am wondering how do others deal with this?

While some of our members may also have arthritis, you may find posting on an arthritis forum gets you more replies.

there are many people who have both - so hopefully you will get some more replies. I get a bit of hand pain from my fibro - meant to use splints when typing etc (which I don't), but not really found anything which helps other than not doing one task for too long a time without resting in between.

Hi and welcome. I have osteoarthritis and fibro. My hand pain is related to both. The arthritic Pain is best helped for me with hot wax hand baths. Was treated to this as a present and it really helped as well as leaving my hands really soft. I can’t tolerate prescription meds so have to rely on alternatives. Bio freeze gel also helps as does wearing wrist splints. You may also find keeping food diary will help identify if any particular foods influence the pain levels. Referral to pain clinic may give you some alternative treatments too.

Thank you for your welcome and your advice I will look for the wax bath.

It sounds promising.

Stay safe and Happy New Year!

When the pain is severe I find soaking my hands in warm water with some Epsom salts in it really helps. Try not to let your hands get cold and support gloves can also help but can get a bit sweaty.x

started to get painful hand joints about 10 years ago and a friend told me about Hyaluronic acid, so I took 300 mg a day and after 4 months the swelling went down and the pain went away. still take it every day and sometimes twice a day in the winter and it has kept the arthritis at bay so far. I get the tablets from pure clinica on amazon. very worthwhile for me as I can continue to play keyboards and guitar every day. apparently you have to try it for at least 4 months in order for it to build up in your system and see if it is going to work for you, I have recommended it to many of my friends, 90% of whom have had positive results, sometimes much quicker than I did.

To be clear, for three months and two weeks it felt as though nothing had changed, so you have to give it time and also be consistent and take it every day, and I forgot to mention that I take with marine collagen, there is a combination on pure clinica , works for me. Cheers
