Burning hands.. Help!

After blood tests etc, docs are saying it's 'probably' fibro?!? Thing is my hands are so painful, really hot and itchy and aching at night. Is this typical of fibro? (I have issues with my neck, shoulders, knees and sciatica) or could it be something else?

Burning pain can be a fibro pain ....I get it in my feet more than my hands. Not found anything that really helps yet

I have Raynauds disease among others, sounds similar to my symptoms but we are not all the same

Check out Raynauds to see if it is same.

A few things to Google I guess 😊 have been using voltarol like handcream this morning and it's eased the ache but not the burn! It's still early days with this fibro life, there is so much to learn 😐

Hi, ive had fibro for a number of years now, but the itchy burning hands only started a few weeks ago. So itchy that ive actually scratched the top layer of skin off and made my hands even worse. I found that freeze gel helped. Its cheap over the counter stuff and it takes the edge off the burning. Hope you find some relief soon.

Thankyou! Woke up this morning and it wasn't too bad till I put the kettle on! Hubby popped to chemist for freeze gel...LOVELY! It definitely relieves the itch. Makes your hands a bit slippy though 😊 but worth it. Thank you again geminilady, have a good day x

I have just had the same diagnosis after years of tests and dismissal of small fibre neuropathy and have exactly the the same symptoms! I am have tried lots of meds other than pregabalin nothing much seems to help! I think it all started with a problem nerve in my neck then the sciatica then the knee problems and it snowballed after that with pins / needles burning shap stabbing pains all over! Still not sure fibro is the right diagnosis either!

Hi Helen, I have terrible itchy, burning hands and feet, sometimes elbows and knees. I was told its fibro related. Luckily it comes and goes.

I've started to try and get my brain to think of it as a heat, advice from pain clinic, just so I'm not trying to itch

Freeze gel! My new favourite thing thanks to geminilady 😊 trying to think differently is a good idea. I have a referral to pain clinic so I guess I'll learn all these things...have a good day.

I'm new here and suffer from burning and itching but its my bottom!. It started last November with about 6 water infection one after another. I was given several antibiotics. I had camera in my bladder that was normal. Finally that stopped. I then stared with the burning and itching around my bottom and vulver. The gynaecological took two biopsy's both came back as warts thats all. I was given steriod cream dermovate. However I got a bad case of ringworm all over the same area that had been burning/itching and sore. I bought some cooling pillows so I can sit comfortably. I was given terbinafine tablet and cream. It took 5th for the ringworm to go. Now im under dermatology who have given me amitriptyline and moisturiser ive been on for 3mths. My skin is not dry at all now bt I still have the burning bottom cheeks too and still have to use cooling pillow to sit on. Im in the UK can I get the freezing gel here OTC and has any of you had this? I'm now waiting to see a hemorrhoids specialist because I do have those two. Sorry this is so long but its my first post. Any help are advice could help. Thanks 😊

Blimey! You've had a rough old time of it. I'm new on here also so this post probably won't be very helpful for you. I suggest you start a NEW post/question and somebody may have some advice. Take care and I hope you get some proper relief soon x

Yes 😆 its been horrendous to be honest and all during lockdown. Ive been to Home Bargains and got some of the freeze gel. I have been using coconut oil for just over a week and its defo helping. At least I can walk again cos for mths I was too sore. Luckily my partner took care of me. Im told its my nerves so neurological thats why they gave me amitriptyline it has helped a lot. I will struggle on its sort of a relief to know im not going mad or alone. Thanks for answering me. I didnt know if id done it right lol. Thankyou Helzz keep safe
