Hi, I am new here and trying to find my way around the site. My question is, can anyone advise me regarding hand excercises with swollen fingers and very sore joints due to being diagnosed with secondary fibromyalgia today.

Kind regards.

John.

Hi John-99 and a warm welcome to our community. Here you will find information support friendship and laughter too. You can find general information on fibromyalgia at our main website fmauk.org

I know everything is affected by covid, but may be worth asking your gp for a referral to physio for exercises that will help you.

Hi. Thank you for the response , I have spoke to my GP regarding this and he informed me there are no physio available to me at the moment with them being shut.

Private physios are doing appointments on line, and by phone.they may be able to give you exercises

The only snag is you have to pay.

Hi John.

I'm fairly new here too. I also struggle with pain and stiffness in my hands. it can be so frustrating at times.

I've hopefully included a link to the NHS inform website where I found some useful gentle exercises to help with hand and wrist pain.

I haven't tried them all yet but the ones I have feel good for me.

hope this helps until you can get some physio if you need it.

best Regards

Julie

I know what you mean about the. Vet

When they take me off in an ambulance to be checked, I ask to go to the vet. They think I’m joking.

Yes I will second the vet visit. We have a rescue dog and the treatment and care she gets when she goes to the vets is fantastic and she also gets a treat at the end.x

Not a suggestion for exercises but have you or are you able to see a hand physio? I found mine to be really amazing but this was before Fibro.

I know some of the private physios are doing online consultation, but you have to pay. I can’t understand why NHS physios aren’t doing the same.i hope the exercises off the HS WEBSITE help you. Do them gently till things start to settle.

I hope they help.
