I received a letter from my appeal tribunal that dwp has responded back and l received this week a huge load of all my PIP assessments ( from 2015 to 2020) and decisions including my two last mandatory reconsideration they did not give me to date and reading the lies contained in the dwp reports is truly annoying, l have been awarded standard rates in my last 3 assessment , but l believe l should have gotten enhanced rates for both components, hence this time l decided to take it to tribunal ( l have a letter from GP and consultant reports including x-ray report. But l am going through so much stress from the appeal wait. Does anyone know how long the appeal process take and if l will still have to appear in person which is what l ticked,? I am very nervous which does not help my condition

Help , how long does tribunal take and is it done online now?
I recently had a telephone tribunal. It lasted about on hour. They found in my favour and I went from 0 to 15. It involves a judge with experience of benefits law, a doctor and some one who has a disability. The doctor clearly has the ability to assess you holistically and knows what you are talking about when you mention what is wrong with you. During the call you must not interrupt them, wait for a direct question and give a direct answer. At the end they will ask if there is anything else you wish to say. Make notes of things you want to tell them and let them know you have written down questions because you would not remember them. Unlike the other assessments you are being interviewed by people who are at the top of their game and are there to help you, not trip you up or catch you out. Let them know how things are on a really bad day. I hope this helps and good luck.
Telephone the number on your appeal tribunal letter and ask them - they should be able to give you an average wait time for an appeal hearing in your area - though as things are strange at the moment that can only be considered a best guess. They should also be able to tell you whether the appeal will be heard in person (don't think that is happening again yet) or whether it will be done by telephone. Try not to worry about the appeal - easier said than done I know - I had to appeal to get my ESA reinstated last year.
i waited a yr , and it made me so ill , i was in bed for 2 weeks after. Example of what i was asked , if u were crossing the rd and a out of control lorry was heading towards u would u be able to get to the other side , there was also 3 steps or a lift to the room i felt silly using the steps as it was only 3 , that went against me to , they also noted i walked across the room with little trouble , well the floor was flat not like pavements and there was no wind or anything to blow me over , it will be tough unless u get lucky , so be prepared , i am waiting to see what happens with my mandatory letter ,if it fails and i cant have tribunal by phone i shall not have it at all ,because am so sick afterwards, i would except any kind of proper medical test like trigger points pressure points lifting and bending etc but they are not interested in the truth , so so different from when it was dwp panel they asked how yr illness affected u daily and stuff like that much fairer
So sorry to read about what you went through, for dwp is about cutting cost and depriving us from the help we truly need, l for one based on my health conditions and how it impacts my day to day life l should not even have been put through this process of appealing, l should have been awarded enhanced rate from both components from start
my world is so small compared to most i rarely leave the house iv not had a holiday or even a night away in 20 yrs because of the pain and fatigue , the fibro list goes on , doing even the simplest things can cause awful pain , yet the new system basically call me and many others liars ,thats what really hurts , who would want to be like us in constant pain,
