Dear station19

Soooo sorry about your neck and agony.

I too have the left sided pain due to scoliosis and hEDS.

I must wear a proper fitting soft collar to help support the weight of my head. It truly eases my pain and the only way to frequently relocate my neck spine.

I hope this info will be useful to you.

Best wishes and abundant blessings.

Have you been to see a chiropractor? I get terrible neck pain if I haven’t visited for a while.

Hi, I’ve got FMS & neck pain has been a key feature of my life causing migraines. If your muscles are tense and are the cause I would recommend Botox injections into the muscles. It’s the only relief I’ve had for decades. You might benefit from a low dose of nortryptyline or amitriptyline. Also check the NICE guidelines.

PS keep your neck moving, a collar might not be the best solution - also check out osteopathy if you haven’t before. With FMS it’s likely to be soft tissue and muscle more than joint issues. I had an MRI on my neck and nothing showed. The Botox made me feel like a new! Best wishes

There are various exercises which might help. We often hold tension in our shoulders and neck; when muscles are tight they cause pain which can radiate throughout the body. Our fascia is one continuous skein of tissue which covers everything and when there is misalignment at one place it affects all other - think of pulling the corner of a piece of cloth and see how the tension radiates. I have posted details of the exercises I advise to clients in previous posts.

I don't know if this will help you but I've had severe neck and shoulder pain up until about a month ago. This is going to sound weird but try and massage your pectoralis major muscles. This large fan-shaped muscle stretches from the armpit up to the collarbone and down across the lower chest region on both sides of the chest. The two sides connect at the sternum, or breastbone.

I have had great success with massaging this muscle I hope this gives you some relief.

Soft hugs

Hello there, I have had the same problem for years and nothing I tried could help, so here's what I did and now don't have any pain. Your pain is on the left so when you go to sleep, turn your head to the right and try to fall asleep like that. Give it a few days to clear up. It really works. It has for me. Now I am pain free. Try it and best regards. len
