Hi Becky,
If you're asking can you get in on prescription then the answer is no. It is only consultants who can prescribe it, and only in exceptional circumstances, but unfortunately fibro is not one of the conditions covered.
Your pharmacy may well sell CBD oil though, and if so will be able to advise.
What exactly are you asking about them ? If it's looking for a prescription, CBD oil is not available on prescription that is cannabis oil you are thinking about - and like mo says, not available on NHS for fibro.
CBD oil can be purchased, but if you are on medications or is recommended that you leave a 2-4 hour gap between meds and CBD to minimise risk of interactions xxx
No I’m asking if you can take cbd with certain other medications or do they interact I know it doesn’t come on prescription
As there have been little clinical trials run on CBD oil and as it is a food supplement then it is not held to the same regard as a medicine. So Aprils bottle and Junes bottle could be different for example.
But part of a medications testing is human safety testing and working out what interactions with othr common medications are. There is none of this with CBD oil and it's a massive human experiment that people are doing and interactions will be discovered along the way.
I use CBD Hemp oil on hubby's swollen hurting feet at night. I bought it years ago over the counter and only use it on the skin. Don't know if it's helping but don't know what else to do. Dr. Didn't even notice during a visit for an exercise study for Parkinsons'.....just said he's obese. Overweight, ya, but obese at 266 lbs. in the tummy mostly. He does ride his inside bike but hardly walks. He's in the Control Group so doesn't have to do specific exercises. He wears a band that shows his steps is all. As some have mentioned here for Fibro., he also falls asleep easily during the day. We're just plain boring. We're mid 70's. Good luck with CBD.
I have been taking cbd oil for over a year now after finding one that really helps me. I was able to cut pain meds by two-thirds within 2 weeks - realised I was missing doses instead of clock-watching for the next one.
Someone already said to leave a gap between meds & cbd as it can affect the absorption & the one I buy advises taking cbd immediately before eating.
I tried a few before finding Sigma, which was recommended by a friend. It's reasonably priced so I can afford to take more than the teeny dose suggested by producers of the teeny, 25ml bottles that cost a fortune.
Don't know what I'd do without it now. Haven't seen GP for a while but she's supportive & interested in the benefits.
