Hi I have just been diagnosed with fibromyalgia this week and have been I'll for 4 months now, chronic fatigue, joint pain, headaches, sore ears, always feeling like I'm about to have a cold, dry eyes. Some of the pain comes and goes but the pain in my elbows has been persistent.
Been mostly bed bound, feel like I'm going crazy, trying to understand what's going on.
Kept going to Drs saying how I'll and tired I felt, I was like (my life is falling apart please someone listen to me) A specialist says she's leaning toward fibromyalgia. She said something about anti body test came back positive but I dont understand what that meant. Feel like I'm down the rabbit hole. Not sure on diagnosis as she didn't seem confident when she told me.
Sorry if this seems negative but it's all overwhelming and confusing.

Hi and a warm welcome to our community. Your doctor should eliminate other potential causes for your symptoms prior to making a diagnosis -and the diagnosis is generally made after all tests come back clear. If one of your tests has shown up something, then it is possible there is another cause -but you would need to ask your doctor to explain what the test results indicated.
Yes the positive antibody test, has thrown me a bit. My GP's that I've seen seem really dismissive and reading a lot of the same from other people with fibromyalgia. Very sad and frustrating.
Anyone watched the video on you tube (Fibromyalgia and removing the B S)
Hi welcome all my test come back ok so they said to only thing it can be is fybiomalger waiting to c specialist now but they lost all my blood test so I end up have to having them done again before seeing a specialist its is long process been like it 4 years but I am on right road go to your GP and mention it could fybiomalger and hopefully they send on right road a orthopedic specialist end up diagnosing me but I got go see different specialist to confirm it long old road but they positive I have fybiomalger
Your antibody test could indicate certain types of arthritis. However blood tests are only a small part of the diagnostic process and your doctor will need to take your other symptoms into account. My wife as never had a positive blood result but was diagnosed with a type of arthritis. Some of her symptoms could be explained by arthritis but others could not and after all other causes were eliminated she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Sadly it is quite a long wait to get answers but your doctors seen to be doing all the right things. Hopefully you will get answers soon.
There is a book "Keep Calm and Take Some Magnesium" - might be useful. You could investigate various aspects of soft tissue pain - perhaps some value. Also, why not examine the articles by Dr Sircus IMVA in case he has a clue. For fatigue, you could check out a book by Dr Sarah Myhill about CFS - maybe you could get some useful ideas.
Hi Gracie. Try not to drive yourself round the twist while waiting for a diagnosis (easier said than done I know). I was diagnosed SLE and Sjogren’s over 10 years ago. At the moment it sounds like our symptoms are very similar. My consultant advised me that it looks likely that I also have Fibromyalgia. Some of the autoimmune conditions tend to overlap and some have similar treatments. Hope you get well soon x
