It’s on both shins and I’ve had it since July 2018. It never goes away. Looks quite pale on this picture but it sometimes goes bright red/purple, especially after a shower.
I’ve been waiting 8 months for a dermatology appointment so thought I would throw it out there in case someone has a similar thing.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Backbracelady, thanks for the response. I suspected that it may be some type of vasculitis considering the length of time that I've had it and the look of it but I hadn't looked at HSP. I'll mention it at my next doc appointment and ask them to test my kidneys - I've read that it can affect kidney function. I'm not holding my breath for my dermatology appointment.
Yes worth mentioning! I have had it around 8 times, it looks very similar... doctor's don't really know about it. They may actually say what's that in your appointment lol I have had to tell many a doctor! I even diagnosed my grandpa after he had been in hospital for a week and they didn't know what was wrong with him... I went to visit and said well looks like HSP... they tested and yup...
Haha, you are spot on regarding the doctors responses. Every time I've been to the doctors for my other numerous ailments, they catch a sight of my legs and say "what's that" - I thought they were supposed to be the professionals and tell me!
The next time I go I will just insist that they test for HSP, otherwise at this rate it is never going to go away.
That’s a condition called Sweet’s Syndrome - would be my guess. There’s a HU community for Sweet’s maybe post it there and ask there opinion too. Hope this helps Emma
