Bad dreams

I keep getting headaches over last couple of weeks, well I’d say migraines. These start in the night where I’m having many many dreams, I wake up from these with my heart beating so fast, it worries me. And then the headache comes 😢

I am on amatrripline (can’t spell) to relax me at night, and I has been ok.

(Hope this makes sense) I wandered off anyone else has this? Today I feel weak, tired and head banging, slept most the day but had a restless night.

How long have you been taking Amitriptline? Could be a side effect.

Hi Macdonaldcd1980 sorry to hear of your struggles. 💐 you have highlighted something for me as taken amatriptalin and having lots more dreams than normal also migraine type sore heads which I was thinking it was oramorph I recieved at a.e last friday

These are new symptom for me, I am also experiencing more pain in my knees then previous.

Sorry I dont have answers but iam hopefully seeing the doctor tomorrow.

For more information on my treatment and will point this out.

Take care

And thank you for sharing.

Oh amatriptaline is an awful drug. I don’t know why they prescribe it so much. It isn’t a relaxant, I found it gave me severe heart palpitations and felt on edge. Deffo see the doc about an alternative

You’re welcome 😊 can I ask what it was prescribed for in the first place? Pain relief or antidepressant?

Ah I kinda guessed you might say that. There are much better ones. I’m on Sertraline and mirtazapine as I’ve been to hell and back after a spinal accident in 2018. Which I’m still not recovered from. I’m still not happy about how little they’ve discovered other than nerve damage and compression. My cord is at risk too. Now because they can’t be arsed doing much else they just Throw things at me. Was MS in dec now this? I am seeing a Walton neurologist in feb so I want their professional examinations and ideas before we jump the gun.

Has anyone else felt they’ve just given fibro as a diagnosis because they don’t know what’s wrong? X

I don’t remember my dreams but I too have been having more migraines in the last couple of weeks. Not sure why. Taking a relpax usually gets rid of the migraine until the next day. I just got a fitbit that analyzes my sleep and I get very little time in deep sleep 16 minutes if I’m lucky. One night was 2 minutes. I haven’t checked last nights sleep yet.

Are you on anything for migraines? How long ...🤔..few weeks I think was what you said. If this continues I would suggest you get into see the doctor. Sleep is something we all need to get to feel better. That is quality sleep the deep restorative sleep.

I have been taking Amitriptyline for decades anywhere from 25-100mg and in recent years have not remember my dreams like I use to. I’ve had some dreams that are implanted memories for childhood nightmare and in the 90’s my flying dreams of going to another universe planet that was similar to Earth but had less land mass and they were more advanced in their technology. No amitriptyline can cause tachycardia. If you stop it cold turkey sleep will not happen. Those are the only side effects that I had with it.

Thank you, I don’t have medication for migraines as to be honest I thought they had stopped, I might get the odd one now and again.

Same hear I thought mine had stopped too until these last few weeks. I’m thinking mine is related to my poor quality sleep.
