Hi all, I'm new to this group and been reading through posts, some really great suggestions for dealing with pain which have helped me masses!
I have an appointment with a rheumatologist in February (which feels like forever away) and I was just wondering what I can expect? I have lots of fybro symptoms and a friend of mine who has it says that's her theory for all my symptoms.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what to expect and how long it takes to get a diagnosis (or do you go in and walk out with a diagnosis?)
Thank you! xx

Hi
First, welcome to this wonderful forum.
I was referred to rheumatology who diagnosed me and referred me back to my Dr. I was referred to pain management, I went to two different ones which were no good, I'm now with someone else who I was referred to who has been brilliant, I'm waiting for steroid injections, I'm under someone else who are also giving me an injection 3 months later, one is near and one is so they are going to merge them so that u just have to go to the nearer one. Please take care of yourself Lynne
It's great they can diagnose there and then. Sorry you had some no good pain managements but glad you're on a good path now! Thank you for you reply, take care too x
I saw the rheumatologist earlier this year, they took some bloods and I had to wait 8 weeks for a follow up but I go to the busiest hospital in London so you probably won’t have to wait that long. They did some basic movement tests and ruled out most things before coming to the Fibromyalgia conclusion. I was handed a pamphlet on fibromyalgia which was a complete waste of paper. I’ve learnt more on here from the good people in this group. It’s been so beneficial to my health mentally and physically. Good luck with your appointment, and don’t worry February will be here in a flash.
Awesome, I definitely feel like I've learnt a lot more from this group than anywhere else online about Fibro! I think I've had all the blood tests so fingers crossed they're able to diagnose there and then!
