Nightmares

Just a quick question. Does anyone else have nightmares. I know we all seem to have sleep/lack of problems but I seem to be getting a lot of nightmares recently, which added to constant head pain and everything else, is starting to concern me a bit. Of course my stress and anxiety doesn't help either. Take care everyone. At least we have sunshine here this morning, a nice change from the rain. x

I have found that some meds can cause this in my case x

Yeah occasionally , I think sleep related , ...do we get deep ,..or Light REM sleep , ....may be a fit bit can tell us ! Anyway , you know in morning when stiff ( I can't move at all without meds) dreamed I was on fire. ,!!!!!!😳and couldn't move a muscle , just had to lay there and listen to myself crackle to death ...in flames , interpreted as being trapped 🤔.... Don't know which is worse , dreaming about being on fire or dreaming about having fibro 😢, used to dream about running etc ......💜💜💜

Certainly unrelenting 'bad dreams' that more often than not wake me up in a tensed up 'brace' position. Hope this helps.

Nightmares are a normal part of sleep for some people. I've always had them. They did terrify me as a kid but I don't mind the odd nightmare. Sleep paralysis, I've always had this as well. I think it's just common for some people.

I also think it could be something to do with different meds. Years ago I had to take anti-malarials for several weeks. Had the weirdest dreams ever, not nightmares as such but dreamt about every relative I’d had who’d died. Felt quite spooked about it until I heard a woman in a group at the airport asking if anyone else had had strange, very vivid dreams. I felt relived it wasn’t just me.

Our sleep rhythms are all blown to pot by fibro so that’s another factor to consider. If you have a smartphone or tablet you could try hypnosis for sleep on YouTube, I’ve found them really helpful ( I particularly like Michael Sealey)
