As I’m still waiting for follow up help etc after being diagnosed with fibromyalgia around 10 weeks ago , I have decided to be proactive and reach out for help for myself! Does anyone know of any printable / exercises to help with fibromyalgia. I need to do something as I have no medical help she far . Feeling very deflated with it all x

Hello and welcome!

I find that short walks with my dog (about 20 minutes max) , swimming gently (hydrotherapy is good, I did a 6 weeks course, my GP referred me when I was first diagnosed, maybe you could ask your doctor?) And also Hatha yoga, which is very gentle (I go to a class once per week, but also do a few of the stretching at home every day!)

But as always with fibromyalgia, it is important to pace yourself, and not push yourself too far, as soon as you feel uncomfortable, stop! My motto for exercising is "little and often" ! h

And of course, to begin with you will need to experiment, to see what works best for you. Take care x

I go to the gym, 2 to 3 times a week and walk daily. I have to keep my muscles moving, otherwise they get stiff and cause more pain. Everyone is different but exercise is the key, I also use cbd oil, which has helped so much, with the anxiety and the pain, although expensive.

I totally agree with the other replies, I walk our dog everyday, this gets me out of the house and gives me a reason to actually get dressed. I also do a yoga class once a week and although there are poses I can't do anymore, I feel as though I am doing something positive for myself. Good Luck with everything

I agree with all these comments ... exercise is key ... I walk my dog ... do ballet and just started Yoga ... but whatever is best for you start at your own comfortable pace.. swimming is very good too ... best wishes and keep us updated 😊

Hi I am in the same situation As yourself so thank you for posting this.

The information is helpful to me also.I wanted to try swimming but I would have to find a pool with easy access in and out as my arms don’t work properly to be able to pull myself back out lol. I am feeling much more positive after finding the support from this group. I have had nothing but support and positivity and really sound advice from people that have already been through and understand what we are just starting out with. I am going to be starting doing the exercises in the video posted below and gentle stretches and I try to get out once a day (when possible) for a short walk.

Big hugs - I’m always here if you want to PM xx
