For the last 3 months, I've been suffering from right quadrant pain and have had various tests to find out what is causing it. The added stress of this newly developed pain has set off a massive flare, especially as I'm still waiting on results.
My worst fear is that they'll just conclude that this pain is down to my fibro and it'll be something else I'll have to live with. I'm f*****g fed up of putting up with pain and am just fed up in general. How can I cope while I wait for results apart from the isolating behaviour that I'm doing now? I am not good at asking for help.
Thanks

I am sorry you are struggling veggiemomma. It is hard when nearly everything is put down to fibro. This health condition caused so many symptoms it worries me what I'll experience next.
Is your pain in the right upper quadrant or in the right lower quadrant? If it is upper quadrant pain I would make sure you stay well hydrated. Were you affected earlier by the heat wave, that I read a number of forum posts here complaining about (it)? If so could your system have gotten a little dehydrated from the heat? If you have a sensitivity to anything perhaps that could have concentrated it’s effect a bit.
If you have been going heavy on high oxalate foods like spinach try cutting down on high oxalate foods a bit to see if that helps. Many veggies are loaded with oxalates, especially if eaten raw. Keep different foods & drinks in moderation if you haven’t been.
Also think back, did you do a different activity like lifting over half your weight, drive a distance, or forgotten about a fall? This could cause a painful trigger point in the area that frankly only a competent Physical Therapist is bound to find.
If it is lower quadrant does the pain alter at all in relation to your menstrual cycle if you have one(?).
I think my right upper quadrant pain developed from neglecting a lot of different areas of my health & my body told me in no uncertain terms I could no longer do that any more. Looking back my work schedule was brutal. I hope your pain settles down.
Hi veggiemama, I had upper right quadrant pain...didn't notice it amongst all my other pains at 1st..but then it took over. Investigations showed it was my gall bladder, it was engorged with gallstones and ready to burst. I had to removed and am fine now
To this day I completely avoid concentrated sweets. I had a cookie years ago & developed such intense right upper quadrant pain that I am still afraid of sweets.
In the past I believe a “PPI” or proton pump inhibitor, I think they are called elevated my liver enzymes but they returned to normal after being very carefully tapered off it by a Gastrointestinal doctor.
Should you be a diabetic input from a specialist in that particular discipline may not hurt.
Morning I hope these results come soon, we can relate to feeling fed up it does get to you, good we can come vent our frustrations here as we are all in a big club nobody wants to be in . We do have days when we need to be at home for sure and the isolation that comes with it, one of the things that keeps me going is the ones we can get out for awhile and see what the rest of the world is doing. Have you any close friends or family you can sit with and chat apart from us . Take care.
