Constantly in pain upper spine area radiating down my arms , all joints seem to ache, legs hot, I get very stiff, just seem to be in pain most of time of vary degrees, it has been suggested to me by friend that it could be fibromyalgia. Also get very stiff, just wondering if this sounds like symptoms.

Thank you for any feed back

Hello, there are many websites you can go that explains the diagnose process and diagrams of the all the tender painful pressure point that Rheumatology use to diagnose Fybro, after first ruling out other conditions with X-rays, blood tests etc. I used w.w.wwebmnd.com, go to that site where it explains you to have at least of 11 out of 18 of the painful tender pressure points that could point to Fibromyalgia, a referral by your GP (you need to give your doctor a full description of you symptoms). to Rheumatologist would then be the best option for diagnosis. Hope that helps, but don't let your doctor fob you off with it's just depression or it's all in your mind, mine did for 2 years or more. In the meantime try things like applying heat with a wheat bag or hot water bottle (wrapped in a towel), or cold therapy may work for you, wrapped bag of peas or ice pack, I put my wheat bag in the freezer, massage helps with a pain relief gel, I get Voltorol gel on prescription but you can buy it over the counter. When I had a really bad hip my doctor gave me me Pyroxocam gel which was brilliant, went back on other when my Hip eased as apparently your not supposed to use long term, not sure if it's a Steroid. I am on an opiate for pain because of my Arthritis but I also buy Ibuprofen from the Supermarket it helps inflammation and swelling, if you taking anything now for pain do tell your doctor. If you do get a positive Fybro diagnosis you could be prescribed antidepressants, but don't let that put you off, it is a usual treatment for treating Fybro, but there is side effects, everyone on here has their own story to tell of their own experience of these drugs, I tried so many but couldn't take the side effects, but they are the right thing for some people. I went on to Codeine but I hated the dry mouth and constipation that came with it and now manage with low dose Zomorph (Morphine) capsules. Good look, take care and get plenty rest when the pain let's and if your circumstances let you, be kind to yourself. Let me know how you go. Sending love & hugs🤗😇

healthunlocked.com/fibromya..., hello there I would differently start with an appointment with your doctor , they will decide whether to refer you to a rheumatologist, some doctors will make a delicious themselves like mine did after a period of time blood tests , checked if I reacted to any pressure points of my body when touched which I did, and in general how long my symptoms had been going on. I have posted a link above if you would like to lock your posts as then only our community can see, take care .
