I am on pregabalin, it helps ease the symptoms but doesn’t take it away fully I’m afraid.

Sorry to hear that. Have you spoken to your GP about an alternative? Perhaps Gabapentin?

I am doing Pilates and hydrotherapy and also practice mindfulness which helps? Xx

I am trying to steer away from medication such as, Gabapentin, amitryptiline and take only co-codamol or paracetamol (One or the other as they are not to be taken together. I also do Pilates, Stretch and Aqua (not in the same day) fit classes. Im still in pain but feel better than I did on strong medication. As the side effects outweigh the pain. I had no quality of life as they made me feel like a zombie. If possible try something like that. Start gently and push yourself that little bit more each time. Know your limitations though and listen to your body! Good luck whichever choice you make 😀

Where is it . ..there's quite a lot you can do as well as Meds.heat pads .simple special physio.volt volterol gel..relaxation 😞mindfulness.😩physio tape ( can't live without ) I find codiene useless but might be me..pregablin (pain management ) usually.with another suitable pain relief combined but see your GPS I guess x

Glad you are checking in this week to see your gp, I’m on duloxtene supposed to help with fibro pain but was really put on it for anxiety due to having fibro/cfs has a sedative in the tablet to relax the muscles, I’m not really on a high dose 60mg although I can go higher if needed doc says, he also prescribed 30mg codiene 3 x a day but only to use when I need it, works for about 2 hrs I find it tails off after that. I really look forward to Epsom salts bath every night, my hot water bottles, I use either deep heat or a bio freeze gel when I’m going to do extra bending etc. differently pacing when you can in between your day. healthunlocked.com/fibromya..., I’ve posted a link if you would like to lock your posts as onlybour community can see. Take care hope you find something that will help xx

I've been on Gabapentin for years. Have had no side affects and it does help to some extent. x

I have been on Gabapentin for years, slowly build up with strength , up to 1100mg three times a day now, and it’s awesome! Xx

Hello Larnian, I attend the Neurological hospital Cleaveland Street . When I go they give Lidocaine infusion, this is given once every 12 weeks . It is a neurological pain blocker and it’s specific to that pain. I’ve had neurological nerve damage for 27 years and I struggled until 4 - 5 years ago and I seen a nerve damage specialist and they placed me in this group . It takes 3 hours to go into your system by fusion method . I’d ask your dr to refer you to the neurological hospital Cleveland Street London . I also take 600 mg of pregabalinpain medicine daily . Good luck with your treatment and I hope this has helped . It’s worth considering, regards Robert

Hi thanks for your reply

That is something I might consider in the future if I feel I need to

At the Moment I’m trying Bowen massage so I need to give that a fair try

Hi larnian, I'm on the max dose of pregabalin but it just takes the edge off, were you on the max dose too? If so I've heard amitriptyline is good so that might be worth a try, also on very bad days i take Zapain which I was originally taking for toothache lol plus a friend of mine swears by co.codomol. The thing I've found with fibro is that you have to throw everything at it to see what works.I

hope this helps

Hi Larnian, I think most ideas have already been given.. I just wanted to say I take the max dose of Gabapentin, it doesn't take the pain away completely, but I think that's the case with all of us unfortunately! I haven't had any bad side effects, thankfully. The idea of alternative therapies sounds like a good idea to try. Purely because you're not putting something else into your body that may cause you to have side effects. You never know until you try. Best of luck with whatever you try. Here's to less pain days ahead. A x
