I would like to take this oppertunity to suggest that everyone take the time to click on the little face on the top right side of their screens.

If you click on settings you will see Data Sharing down near the bottom of the settings page,, it is very carefully worded but it is likely that your information is being sold by HU.

If you uncheck that box it should stop this happening.

here is the healthunlocked article on privacy on the site and what you can do to control it as well as other useful and related links: Https://support.healthunlocked.com/article/20-controlling-your-privacy

here is a link on how HU make money from the site in case anyone is interested: support.healthunlocked.com/...

Interestingly, both those links are blank now.

I don't see a face where you say it should be. Is this something that would show on both a phone and a laptop (which I'm using)? The links desquinn provided (below) say "Page not found." I've been searching this site for a way to make my posts private to each community I'm in, but can't find anything, other than links that no longer work.

If you look immediately above this post, you will see Health Unlocked, to the right of that, is a search box & to the right of that, I have a picture of my little lady & her pink umbrella, you will have your own avatar, that is what you click on & it has a list of options, including 'settings'.

When I was told to click on the little face in the corner, I didn't realize they meant my avatar. My profile pic is not of a person, so that's why it wasn't clear to me. Okay, yes, I had already been to settings, and there's nothing there that specifically mentions making my posts private.

Okay, here is a post. I see no option to lock it. Where on the page would it be?

Okay, that was the piece of the missing puzzle. In my head, posting means writing something and posting it. I didn't realize it had to be a brand new thread. Gotcha. Thanks!

Oops. I meant "missing piece of the puzzle."

Tired...didn't proofread. :-(

Ray's post is about settings from the avatar (round circle top right) to click to change your privacy settings to say No to Data Sharing.

To lock posts to this community, is done by the OP (original poster) and as Ajay says you need to click community only every time you post.

Here's a link about locking posts to community only>

healthunlocked.com/fibromya...

I think the confusion on this post was that there are two different subjects Data Sharing and Locking Posts

Hope it makes sense now :)

Emma :)

Ajay,,, I think you will find that very little is private today,, it is nieve to assume things to be "private" as anyone with a working knoledge of IT will tell ,,, in fact if you want anything to be "private" don't share it"

All your infromation is for sale,,, all of it! One could go to the trouble of using all sorts of proxy servers and the likes of DuckDuckGo and Startpage with which add a modicum of screening when all added together but it is still not private! You are tracked on you mobile phone,, your computer,, as you drive via number plate recognition,, every picture you post online,,, every camera on the street,,, it is all corelated and cross referanced. You are watched or listened to by your smart TV, DAB radio,, those boxes that that turn the lights on,, and very soon your washmachine refigator and cooker when 5G gets going,,, but you probably think me insane,,, not so!

The very timing and keyboard habits are logged,,you can even be tracked as an individual by your keystroke.

I think it rather nieve that anyone thinks something is private because they see a padlock.

BS post,, I will agree to differ on the subject.

Best Wishes, Ray

Ajay575, You wrote that I can go back and lock previous posts, but I have found that there is no option on the page to do that. Are you sure that can be done?
