Hi Floozy. I was diagnosed with FMS last November but it took 2 yrs to get there. I often suffer with jaw ache and have been told it's all part of the symptoms of Fibro. The only thing I find that helps is to apply some anti-inflammatory gel to the area, massaging it in gently. It helps but doesn't completely get rid of the pain. It might be worth you trying. Hope it helps.

thanks kestrelflyer but like many of us i have many other things wrong with me , one being i have suffered 2 dvt, and a clot on my lung in the past so have to take warfarin for life so cant use any anti inflammatorys,as it interfeers with the efficiency of the warfarin.

I have had fibro for 5 years and also suffered jaw pain which i put down to my condition . however after falling on a treadmill and losing my bridge (teeth) I had to go to the dentist to get repaired. Now im waiting for an operation on my jaw as i have a very strange and complictaed bite so have to have jaw surgery to correct and although some of pain was obviously fibro i also have TMJ which baiscally means there is a problem with the how the jaw iss et so it causes pain. While looking this up i discovered that in america they discovered an high percentage of people with TMJ also developed fibro so lets hope that things improve once i have had the operation. I suppose it is very easy to say this pain is because of fibro etc we just need to be careful we dont miss out on other things going on even though it is very difficult to seperate it from the fibro. :)

Jaw pain was one of the first symptoms I got with fibro, and I used a bite splint from my dentist which protected my teeth but made no difference to the pain. I then paid for an NTI splint at a private dentist as it's not available on the NHS and that has reduced my jaw pain by about 80%. It wasn't cheap, but it's been well worth it..

What is the difference with this nti please

I thought the jaw pain was bad enough. But in my teeth. It's unbearable.
