The consultant has written to my GP and suggested I start taking lamotrigine starting dose 25mg increasing by 25mg every 2 weeks. Has anyone taken this drug and did it work for you.

Hi ceedy. I've been off and on it for 5 years for bipolar, had a long spell on it at 300 and stopped taking it for 6 months but now back at 200 and increasing it again. To some degree it helps me, but it's subtle and atm I am taking venlafaxine too which is spacing me out a touch. It's quite passive and the ramp up is to prevent SJS. It won't make things worse or affect you physically or psycologically in the short term from my experience. Good luck.
