Do you move them constantly trying to get them to stop. Especially at night when your trying to go to sleep. I'm not a Dr you should ask your Dr. If it could be restless leg syndrome. Even in your hands and arms. I take Miripex 1tablet at night and it helps alot. I very seldom have a problem with it now. Ask your Dr if it could be that. Let me know. Love susiejo1948

They say it could be symptoms of C.F.S./ M.E. so have joined their support group to get more info, I have seen a Neuro doc who put it down to M.E., It's all getting me down a bit. I have a tummy bug and a head cold too. Roll on spring!

Thanks for your reply, hope you are having a good day.

Yes dear. I have tingling sensation on my hands and left foot. The tingling sensation on my hands not always there but that on my foot is there all the time. Infact some part of my left foot is numbed.

Yes in both hands. Very frustrating. My doc seems to think because I have reduced spacing in my neck that that might be the cause. Wakes me up at night with my hands being numb but all day I have a numbness along the outside of both hands to the top of my little finger. Sorry I don’t have any advice. To me it’s just another thing I’ve had to get used to

Hi Broadfield, I have pins and needles throughout my body, sometimes gentle and other times like someone is ramming a sea anemone into my flesh.

The neurologist said it is caused by over sensitivity to my brain which also causes myoclonus,(involuntary muscle spasms).

Does it happen when you’re exposed to sudden sounds or flashing lights ?

I get the muscle spasms too! It doesn't seem to be triggered by anything else but absolute exhaustion. I'm learning to deal with it as I am with the pain, it's reassuring to know I'm not alone with these strange symptoms it helps to tie it all together which helps with the coping.

Thank you.

b12deficiency.info/signs-an...

The above link takes you to the Signs and Symptoms of B12 Deficiency. Pins and needles can be caused by Low B12. Results need to be around 500 to prevent cognitive decline and neurological damage. A B12 test is not routinely carried out and has to be requested. Also ask for folate - Ferritin and VitD - all need to be optimal for you to feel well ...

At least ruling it out is an option and easy to rectify if your result is low :-)

Hi Marz,

Thanks for your post.

As it happens, I have B12 injections every 8 weeks, on and off Folic acid, (depending on blood checks), and I take vitamin D monthly.

I also think that poor absorption of nutrients/vitamins, has caused me problems over the years but the intensity of the pins and needles and involuntary body jerking has only really effected me over the past 12 months.

I agree with your advice to Broadfield to have the blood checked out, as all too often medics blame everything on fibro

Take care

Hi

After having all the diagnosis’s mentioned by others and further investigations it’s actually small nerve peripheral neuropathy.

Don’t be fobbed off with ‘migraines’/ common in ME etc.

Try taking a good electrolyte drink a couple of hours before bedtime for a week.

Both hands and feet constantly for 36+ years. I’ve seen a neurologist for this and other symptoms, including muscle exercises spasms. He said it was “functional” - a software problem with the brain, rather than a physical hardware problem. He then diagnosed fibromyalgia!
