painful blood pessure

I have had my blood pressure taken hundreds of times over the years but they were with the pump type ..lately the nurse has used the digital one ..and four times trying has had me in agony is there a reason for such terrible pain?

Don’t know but I often have the same problem particularly if pain levels are bad. Ask for them to use a bigger cuff it can make it more bareable. They won’t like it it makes getting an accurate reading harder but it is what my go told me to do and it does help

I feel that pain too, its the muscle in my upper arms that get squozen so tight they hurt, I have yelled out before today at the practice nurse, my g.p has a wrist version its really good.

I didn’t know they even did a wrist one! Does it make much difference?

I’ve just joined a new practice, so I’ll have to enquire whether they have one, or request they get one.

Hello Housy

Just read your post, it's strange isn't it, I've had my blood pressure taken lid also, but had it fine recently in hospital and it was agony Cathy me by surprise, but not sure if it was a different machine or just how I was feeling that made it worse. Thanks for posting it helps to know that these random things are not just me!

I too have had problems with havi flood pressure taken ..it feels like they have taken hacksaw to my arm and I can no longer go to the dentist has it is so very very painful ...shame but I'm reassured it's not just me suffering or noticing changes .....
