As a masseuse/healer I would say that you either had a very bad massage or a very good one. Sometimes a good treatment can kick off what we call ‘a healing crisis’ where one feels awful. It should last from a couple of days to two weeks. I do not do treatments closer together than two weeks as the body has not finished its initial adjustment in that time. Wishing you well.

This is good to know as I am having a spa day with my daughter in December. I seem to remember I had flu like symptoms after a reflexology treatment. I shall be prepared. It would be good if warnings were given out when booking these treatments, thank goodness it is 14 days before Christmas.

Not all therapists know about this. I am trained in an alternative therapy including moving bones and releasing scars, this is not the usual training for a massage therapist; I know how to give a massage but only as part of an overall body realignment treatment. It is good that you have 14 days to recover before Christmas should you have a healing crisis.

Did even have a massage just the jacuzzi

About a year before I was diagnosed with fibro I joined a local swimming pool, thought gentle swimming might help with my stiff joints etc.. After a swim I went into the steam room and sometimes the sauna too. Really helped with movement while I was in there but I began to feel unwell about an hour after getting home. Headache, terrible fatigue. Got to the point where the headache started before I'd even got home so I gave up. I thought if buying a hot tub to use at home but think it'd have same effect. I think possibly the temperature of the jacuzzi did it for you :(

Hope you're on the up again soon.

Were there water jets in the jacuzzi? If so, then you had a massage but by water not by hand.

Sounds like you overdid it hun keeping up with able bodied mates probably didn,t help. Rest will sort you out if it doesnt then see g.p., dont be put off trying jaccuzi at your own pace but aqua or aerobics is a bit harsh on fibro, feels good in the water but it tells on us the next day.
