I was watching a video on fibromyalgia treatments and I came across one a specialist was saying that there's one thing that gps miss out on fibromyalgia patients and that's the imbalance in thyroids and says if we can correct our thyroids we can manage our fibromyalgia symptoms a lot better, does anyone who's suffers dobro take thyroid treatment or supplements and notice any difference at all ?.... I'm contemplating on a supplement for thyroid like ashwagandha and just thought I'd ask if anyone's heard of such info ? Thank you xx

Thyroid balance / fibromyalgia?!?
I have hypothyroidism and am adequately treated, the two conditions are quite separate however thyroid problems should be part of the initial diagnosis process. I still have a great deal of discomfort from Fibromyalgia x
thanks for the feedback Lou1054 it is a differential diagnosis that should be ruled out at the start like other conditions that can share the symptoms.
I know others have an opinion that fibro is merely a symptom of thyroid but your sort of feedback as with others helps correct this view.
Look up the work of the late Dr. John Lowe.
Thyroid is usually one of the first set of blood tests done by gp for elimination purposes, it was for me and many others, though the doctor may just say they are doing blood tests and not list everything they are testing for. All the best
