Hi. I have had many ultra sound guided injections and really they are not so bad. They are uncomfortable but not really very painful. Hope they help you.

I have had loads of guided injections in many parts of my body, mainly shoulders and spine and collar bone, it will be totally fine I have never had a bad experience the injection doesn't actually go into the bone (not sure who told you that) it goes into the space between the join. for example if you were having injection in knee it goes into the synovial area when preparing the injection a local anesthetic is added. it can take up to 2 weeks for it to take affect and it possible for the joint to ache more for a few days. i have been having these type injections for over 30 yrs, good luck, not that you need it :)

Hi I had one which injected saline and steroid into my achillies tendon and it wasn’t sore as they freeze it first. Worked well for a while but wore off so now waiting on op. Xx

I've only had a quided ultrasound on my thyroid twice and it did not hurt but I don't know anything about one in the bone. I hope they give you pain meds. and that it goes well. Hugs.
