Pain management session

Hi everyone. I am going to a pain management session on Friday and wondered what happens at this first session. Doctor has said they Will talk about exercise. I would love to start swimming but my problem is i could get into the pool but as when I bath i can get in ok but I need someone to help me out of the bath.

Hi,

May I suggest you try Hydrotherapy? Ask for a referral from your GP or the Pain Management programme.

I run Hydrotherapy sessions for The Reading and district Fibromyalgia support group and its been the most effective therapy anyone has had.

I have also completed the Pain management programme which is very good. You do CBT, mindfulness gentle excercise. Well worth it and some really good tools to take away with you.

Hya duc I went to pain management about 4 years with very bad pains in my head the first time I went we just talked about my illness and back ground family and stuff they mentioned exercise to in a gym but ta wasn't for me they hv a pool there normally they say it does you good they will help you get out to let me no how you get on luv glor xx

My first session was talking to a lovely lady who took notes about my problems (like a triage nurse) and discussed what would help me the most.

My second session was relaxation.....something I didn't realise I know nothing about!!!!

My third was physio. My hip is bad at the moment so she gave me some very gentle exercises.

Hi paige i am seein the pain clinic i thought that they would give me stronger meds .what a shambles first time we had a chat .then mths later next appointment watched a dvd .my next appointment isnt while oct .i am gettin a meds review by phone .honestly im findin it a waste of time and pain .hopefully tours may be better then mine .i will go in oct and if im chartin wont go back x
