Hi all, I put forward a petition on behalf of us all, they gave you very limited word space so had to delete lots and have a very shortened version but it was rejected by government as others are running a petition. I have copy and pasted what I put forward. Shame it didn’t go through but at least there is other petition to sign on our behalf.
To abolish the PIP system and put a fair system in place.
On behalf of Fybromyalgia sufferers we are incensed by the amount of people who have either had their PIP stopped or can’t get it as they are deemed able to work. If a real doctor was to see these sufferers they would know it is not only physically hard but a mental strain too, people are suicidal.

Why was this petition rejected?
There’s already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
It's OK, please don't worry we can sign the one on UK Gov epetition that you've posted. I used to put petitions on the Gov site but found as the petitions are hard to share via social media they seem to lack engagement and any driving force. I use Change.org now as it easily provides ways to share it so others see it. Maybe you could try posting your petition on this site (pssst plus there is no word limit and you can post an image too)
Don't be despondent as at least you stood up for you believe in and made an effort which is how things eventually change as we keep fighting !
38 degrees or change .org or one of the other petition sites might advise? I don't know but they are experts now in running petition s and publicising
Hi sorry but I am a little confused. Your post reads that you want to abolish the PIP system as (in part) some people dont get it because they are deemed fit for work. PIP is not a means tested benefit. It has nothing to do with being able to work. I worked for the last two years and received PIP. Ironically since having had to stop working I have had my PIP stopped in part and am now having to go to an appeals hearing. But my point is the Scottish government haven’t said they will removed assessments. The government consort papers released as far as I am aware states they will reduce as far as possible the need for f2f assessments.
There are many issues that differ amongst the 3 other countries that make up the UK but they have their own parliament so they have their own rights. I have to pay full uni fees but my mother is welsh and if we grew up in Wales they would be 1/3 of the cost. In Scotland they are free and indeed any Scott attending an English uni still gets their fees paid by the Scottish government. That’s life. For hundreds of years there has been battles over who rules Scotland and although they are not independent in totality it is only fair they have the right to their own government and as such their own systems.
I am with you on the fact that the PIP system of decision making is diabolical but I don’t think the road to resolution lies with comparison to what powers the celts have. JMHO
Just to let you know, the link to the petition is written by a gentlemen as this members was rejected as others on the same subject. He mentions Scotland and I agree it should be about the benefit issues only.
This member has posted what she was going to write as you have read and does mention 'deemed fit for work' and you're right it isn't a means tested benefit. You can also do permitted work claiming ESA I believe if under £400 a month and 16hrs.
I think we all feel the same about the welfare system and wish we could make a difference to bring about change - if only they would listen!
Yes I am aware the other petition is by someone else. But when following the link it only had 29 signatories. A petition needs 10000 to be responded to by parliament so why not reword the one the lady had originally and post it out so it makes the necessary points and try and pip them to the post (if you pardon the pun) there is a possibility it was rejected because it’s information was incorrect.
Oh OK I didn't realise but if I may I think the Scottish points should be directed at the person who wrote it and political issues are best not to be discussed here as per our guidelines.
Regarding PIP I think as a country we are all feeling the same about how we are treated and I think the member is thinking of posting the petition with any rewording suggested on another petition site, as UK Gov is rejecting any regarding PIP it seems. The Welfare Reform hasn't be successful in any areas as I'm sure you'll agree but they seem to be oblivious!
I'm sure this member would welcome any help to write this as other sites have spaces for a greater number of words to explain the failings. Plus don't forget if you would like to support the PIP campaign #GetAGripOnPip
Disability Benefits Consortium launches PIP Campaign information link below;
I think you have misinterpreted my comment, I wasn't saying you had spoken about politics I was mentioning that the rules say politics is tricky so therefore best kept on the subject mentioned by the original poster. Especially as the link posted was to only to show that other petitions existed hence hers had been rejected. I think any issues with the link to random petition should be reported on the UK Gov site where you can clearly send your feelings to them to review .
Everyone here is looking for a petition for all of the UK to change this unfair system and get the justice we deserve as well as for all the vulnerable people who are suffering due to this awful welfare reform. Hence the Disability Benefits Consortium PIP Campaign
