Hi guys, I’m still relatively new to fm and am wondering if feeling sick and tummy pains is a normal symptom to expect ? 😏

That's what I have, same as before my gall bladder removal, minus the a and e visits! From my reading, it's fairly common to have fibro accompanied by IBS. Lucky us. I'll be asking this question at my Rheumatology appointment tomorrow, so I'll let you know. Do you get bloating too?

Thanks, yes I do get a lot of bloating and uncomfortable feelings in my tummy, I’m going to start a food diary as I’m sure certain things are triggering it off.

Irritable bowel is common with fibro sufferers.

You may have something else going on though, so I'd suggest you speak with your GP. I was having similar symptoms to yourself, and I've just been diagnosed with a hiatus hernia. x

My IBS has subsided since I started taking a probiotic daily. Also curing out gluten might help.

When it was bad I took Buscopan.

I managed to stop ibs by using a probiotic. I had nausea for a few months which I put down to fms a few years ago. Usually worse when I first woke up or when travelling even a short distance in a car (car sickness caused vomiting at the time). I used car sickness tablets if I needed to travel far or learnt how to use acupressure on wrists for nausea which is very effective and doesn't involve taking any medication. I have found acupressure useful for headaches, too and do my best not to take pain killers.

Hi SarahIddles, Rheumy today said BV IBS and all its associated side effects are very common. She's referring me to gastrology, because it's giving me a fair bit of grief and causing me to lose (more) weight. I've been taking Buscopan too. There was one I was given in hospital too which is based on peppermint oil, I'll post the name of I remember it.

The peppermint oil capsules I have are called colpermin but they aren’t that great for me. Thanks for getting back to me Hun 🙂
