Hi all, does anyone know if any petition has been done for PIP, I would like to get one organised. I am on a few forums for different illnesses and it is a massive problem for 90% of people, it can’t go on like this. These healthy people making judgements in illnesses they know nothing about, a day in our shoes .................

Hi there Sg1474

I’m sorry I’ve not seen a petition before for our condition but that doesn’t mean there has not been one. But I truly would happily sign it. I have to say I am totally on agreement with you on this one. Today I saw my nephew and sister and it was not for long. I’m now in total agony and having to come to lie down as this past few weeks has been terrible flare up wise. I’ve had photos when my left side has gone completely numb and my face has dropped but we are not allowed to use these as evidence. When I visited hospital they had questioned a stroke but was not so it’s all been documented. I know I’m waiting for my pip outcome again but I’m not that hopeful even though I had only appealed last year and went to the small hearing and win I was meant to still have it until Dec 2018. I’ve been assessed again already. It’s just a fighting battle all the time so I totally agree. Please let me know if I can help or sign Kaz x

Hi Twinkle, I’m so sorry to hear of your struggles, it makes me more determined to do something, I’m going to do a bit of research of how to properly set up a petition that can legally put forward a petition. So will let you know over next few days how I get on, thanks so much for the offer of help, I will let you know. Lots of love Sarah xxx

Hi

Check out "Back to 60" petition/campaign they raised over 700,000 signatures and now getting solicitors to challenge the government's ruling that women born in 1950's have to work to 66 yrs. This particular sight invites you to start other campaigns thro them as they have so many followers. Worth investigsting.

Hi again

It's called ....People power change 38 degrees - start a petition. The site gives you tips how to run a petition.

What would you be petitioning?

A petition needs to be specific about the change you want to see

petition.parliament.uk/peti...

This is the only PIP petition that has got any recent traction, you need 100,000 signatures before it is reviewed.

Read the governments response.

I would be petitioning the PIP system, people feeling nearly suicidal from the fight they have to go through to be believed about the daily pain we live in, it’s humiliating and makes you feel like you are begging, talk about picking on the vulnerable, I m too scared to leave my job and apply for PIP because of the strain in applying for it but working is hurting me so much and can’t do housework when I get in as I am so sore and have a six year old to look after. Just want some justice for us genuinely ill people.

Well I would back you all the way on this, people need to make a fuss or nothing will change and I'm sorry to say that this government is deriding all of our rights one by one and the disabled it seems, are the bottom of the pile in terms of human rights and even basic human compassion. Pip transition is an awful and worrying time for everyone and many thousands of deserving disabled people are having their crucial benefits stripped and actually it's costing this country millions rather than saving money and that's a fact, as for benefit cheats, the amount is negligible, a complete fallacy and a drop in the ocean and it is media hype peddled by the government as an excuse to take away benefits and support to deserving suffering people. Ironic that the government refuses to

' come down ' on the big tax Dodgers with as much zeal though ! If every disabled person who could, ( or their carer ) signed your position asking for change, then the government would have to listen and so would the general public. Go Girl , You Show Em !

Thank you so much, it is really making me cross the more I hear of people struggles, it is time for us to fight back and make them listen. Xx

You need to be more specific than that, you need to define the change you want to see. Each change needs its own petition.

reduce wait times

Or

To make the assessments fairer and more accurate

Or

Stop PIP being reviewed and removed a year before the end of the award date

Yes your right, I am going to go through the process very carefully and specify the immediate changes that’s must be made and look at what alternatives can be made. I will show on here when in put it together and any advice will be greatly welcomed. Xxx

With you all the way, there is another side to it as well Pop assessment has a time limit of 15 days for your Dr to complete your report whereas the doctors in-house schedule is 28 days. You can include that as well, Mar

My daughter was diagnosed with fibromyalgia after almost 5 years of being fobbed off and even being told it was in the mind. She got a PIP and after an assessment it was reduced, she has appealed. I fully agree that so called health people don't understand what each day is like. I hope you managed to get a petition going, I will sign it and so would my daughter and the family.

Hi all, so I went on government website and scripted a petition, I doesn’t allow many words, I had to keep deleting my points and really narrow it down. I needed five emails for it to be activated which I have now and the government and parliament website emailed me that it was going through checks and I will be told if it can go live within the next week. As soon as I know I will let you all know. Thank you so much for your support. Xxxxxxxxx.
