The Hardest Hit campaign is calling for a cumulative impact assessment of all cuts and changes affecting sick and disabled people, their families and carers, and a free vote on repeal of the Welfare Reform Act

I don't know if this has been mentioned already but it could be worthwhile.

Yes I have signed all the petitions to do with Welfare Reforms as well as many other petitions about all sorts of injustice all over the world. I am not up to much but feel I can make a difference in a small way by doing this.
At least we can feel that we are helping to be a voice for change. I do so hope that all the Welfare petitions have some impact and that the Govt. and Atos start to leave us all alone. I know some people would benefit from positive support and I hope they get it, but for those of us who cannot work all the stress we are being put under is tantamount to victimisation.
I am horrified at some of the sad stories on this site and elsewhere on FB and the internet and in the media.
If you see references online to the WOW (War On Welfare) Petition this is it.
If you use Twitter you can search under #WOW & #WOWPetition to see what's been going on and there is also a website where you can download a poster to help spread the word - wowpetitiondotcom.files.wor...
10,000 signatures guarantees a reply from Government Dept but 100k required to go before Back Bench Committee for consideration for debate. Now up to 24,712 signatures.
I just find it astonishing how petitions about inhumane treatment of animals seem to attract more signatures than those for the inhumane treatment of sick & disabled human beings!
Thanks Lima, I think the reason for that is animal charities make their money by being proactive. On the flip side, charities like Shaw Trust that deal with us are paid by govt to run back to work programs, so they are not likely to come to our aid in that respect.
24,690 now
there's a specific number, which I think is 100,000, that guarantees it gets discussed in parliament.
Other than that, just the more signatures, the better, as the more people who support it, the more the government will sit up and take notice, especially as they're not doing well in the polls at the moment - lol!
Even if or when they lose an election, they will still be in power as the opposition. Unless we all vote UKip, that is the only way to stick it to them.
Please take time to stop by and sign this petition as well - Exclude Vulnerable Severe & Enduring Mental Health Sufferers from DLA Assessments in 2013
It only needs another 10 signatures to get a response from DWP with only a few more days left to sign - I'm sure all help will be gratefully received: epetitions.direct.gov.uk/pe...
"Exclude ALL Severe and Enduring Mental Health Sufferers from the DLA Assessments in 2013 for the following Mental Health conditions. This vulnerable group will be hugely disadvantaged and won't have a voice to represent themselves at the assessment, yet they can come across as well to a person who does not know them, many believe they are not ill, which disadvantages them further! Being forced to work when they can't cope will increase homelessness and suicides amongst our most vulnerable mentally ill due to loss of housing benefits and other benefits, it will push many over the edge!
Please exclude Complex Mental Health Conditions,(many suffer from a combination of all of these conditions below), including my own son!
Paranoid Schizophrenia
Dual Diagnosis
Personality Disorder
Please protect this extremely vulnerable client group who suffer from a lifelong unpredictable condition that will not get better as there is no cure, and even with ongoing treatment do relapse.!"
