Wishing you all the best when you see the consultant and hoping the appointment isn’t too long to wait. Looking at your lovely picture I could happily sit and paddle my feet right now. Keep us posted how you get on x
I weaned myself off some of my meds (under supervision of my doctor) as I felt they were doing more harm than good and I was right as the pain was no worse when I came off them. I can relate to the mood swings too although mine eventually swung one way and stopped - as in low and stayed there a bit too long for my liking. I was reluctant to take on more meds to treat this having made the effort to stop relying on them so much, therefore my very supportive and understanding GP gave me some suggestions on how to help myself and also referred me to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) which did help a bit although I know it's not for everyone. Your mood swings may well just be the last lingering withdrawal symptoms however if they continue then may be an idea to chat to your GP who may be able to offer you some (non-med) help. Good luck with MRI results, let us know how you get on. x

I have awful mood swings and getting worse. I also have bipolar which doesn't help and unstable personality disorder. double hit of depression now with the fibromialgia. xx
Good luck with the Consultant. When the dark clouds descended for me I saw a hypnotherapist. Took me a while to find one I was happy with. Met a few as they usually offer a free first session to see if they can help and you are happy with the working relationship. I go when I feel things may slide or when the insomnia is bad as she is great at helping me with that. Not something I can afford on a regular basis but I feel she is well worth the money and I save a little when I can so that it covers a session. Tried mindfulness which works to a degree. My friend told me that when I feel the glass is half empty I should remind myself that the glass is refillable!
