back at gp today in a lot of pain with back and legs . as a sufferer already of fibro i now have sciatica . my gabapentin has been raised from 9 300mg daily to 12 of same strength any thoughts welcome

I am so genuinely sorry to read that and I sincerely hope that your Gabapentin helps with this problem. I have a compressed sciatic nerve and I understand only too well just how painful this issue can be. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

Sciatica is a very general term, of it's self it means little to the actual pathology causing the problem.

You must find the root cause of the sciatic nerve irritation, e.g. Muscle spasm, Triggerpoint's Scar tissue, Disk compression, Postural problem, Subluxation, Spinal stenosis, Calcification, Bone spurs are all common ,,,, something somewhere along the path of the sciatic nerve is irritating the nerve,, find this out and you may begin to address the answer.

well i have fibro already but now sciatica max dose of gabapentin 3600mg daily blows the head off me lol but helps the pain

Lol. I'm on the max of Gabapentin plus several other strong pain killers and I wasn't coping before this agony in my right hip and leg 😁

Cathy, Hopefully the MRI will show no pathology.

Spinal Surgery is not the "end all answer" patients like to imagine, at best, it is an all too time limited fix.
