Advice please

Hello to everyone. I have been experiencing burning pain, on the top of my feet, and it really hurts especially when I have shoes on. I have arthritis, for 26 years and spinal problems but this seems different. Do others experience this with Fibro? Was diagnosed with it 5 years ago, but still learning what it brings.

Thank you In anticipation

Sorry to hear of your new pain Royalname. It’s such a drag when a new symptom appears and can easily pull you down when it involves walking issues! I have a lot of pain in my feet - some arthritis and some Fibro. The Fibro tends to be more burning pain, sudden “pulled muscle feeling” and surface tenderness so I have resorted to wearing soft bed socks, when I have to wear shoes which provides some cushioning. I now wear loose fitting boots or trainers and find opened back slippers more tolerable. paraffin wax treatments and warm baths help my foot pain too. Also check to see if your medication can cause this type of pain. I find I have a whole host of Fibro symptoms which often form clusters that last for hours, days, weeks at a time so for me if the pain drops off after a period of time I add it to the Fibro list. Caffeine, alcohol, chocolate and cold all aggravate my nerve pain so you might try cutting them out? Hope this helps but do contact your GP if it continues - my thoughts are with you x

Thank you very much for your reply my fellow sufferer! Perhaps it’ could be the chocolate & tea, don’t drink alcohol. I do eat and drink it each evening. Your tips are very helpful, x

I get it on the soles of my feet

Feels like I’m walking on glass

I found memory foam shoes with elastic laces help as they relieve the pressure and I use smart crutches for long stints on my feet

Thank you for your kind reply. I used to think Fibro was mind over matter but boy, was I wrong. Besides the usual Fibro complaints, I t’s what comes with it besides- I now have a gluten intolence, can’t wear jewellery as I get a rash, and now this! And when I had my hip replacement 2 years ago, I was so ill after it, high temperatures, flu like symptoms etc. It’s taken me this long to syke myself up for the next one in a few months time. People do not realise how bad it is as there is no mention of it on medical programmes etc.

I hear you! I have a walnut size lump in the arch of my foot (a planter fibroma) and it really impacts in my walking with a tight arch and pulled muscle feeling. The old me would have been straight in to have it removed regardless but I’ve been told it’s incredibly painful without adding on the fibro element with 6 weeks recovery!!! So the NEW me is going down the orthotics route because I now KNOW what real pain is! Hey ho - as long as I can manage to keep mobile that’s the key .

Wow, that does sound nasty. Don’t know how you can walk at all. Good idea to try all avenues. I have ‘knocked’ on so many doors, so to speak, that I have lost count. Keep me up dated x

Hi Royalname

🦋🌿🦋🌿🦋🌿🦋🌿

Do you have neuropathy or Erythromelalgia? These can cause burning pain too. I also have arthritis and spine problems ... so many people and so many conditions I never knew that Fibromyalgia could cause so many symptoms. It wasn’t until I found this site that I heard of these things. I read posts for 4 months before I ever replied due to being so overwhelmed by the vastness of FM. 🤔

What have you tried so far?

Hi honeybug, I havent even heard of Ethromelalgia, must look that one up! And I agree with you, I didn’t know either that Fibro can be as bad as it is. Surely, with all this going on, why are doctors so dismissive! That poor lady this morning saying she wants to die bless her. So many people sent me likes today, see, God works in mysterious ways. How you have got through all you been through- I say God Bless You xx
