What has happened to my sense of taste?
morning have you had a flue virus, l had flu like cold few months ago and since then have lost a lot of my taste and smell
I periodically lose my sense of taste and smell. Always comes back after a day or so. If not, see your GP as early intervention may help.
I don't have a diagnosis of fibro but have many similar symptoms and a host of similar things. I have no sense of smell due to polyp growth with in my nose due to weird chronic "allergies" but am resisting having an operation due to the low success rate and risks so just have to put up with it though I find it mentally very difficult.
Good luck with getting it back but do check with your GP in case there is an easy fix cause such as zinc deficiency
Just wondering if you are taking any medication for your fibromyalgia? Some medicines can alter your sense of taste, or have you had a cold recently? I would still get it checked out by your doctor x
Hi, I have got Fibro and a host of other ailments all brought on by the Fibro. Also have got chronic Raynauds, that I have had all my life, that does not help matters.
Went from a very fit and able chap (ex-Fire Fighter) to somebody who can now do only a fraction of what I used to , and everything has to be planned and is an major effort that wears me out!
Got the Fibro after two really bad viruses one after the other that got me hospitalised and I too have completely lost my sense of smell and of taste along with all that comes with Fibro. That was back in 2012 and my symptoms have not changed I'm sorry to say
Mine comes and goes. Take chocolate, for instance. Sometimes it tastes just as it always did, sometimes it hardly tastes at all and sometimes it tastes too much and it's so sweet it almost hurts. Ditto with smell. Hopefully you'll find yours is temporary too.
