Writing letters

Does anyone else get disappointed when the postman comes and goes without bringing anything for them? I do!

When I was away at University the first time, friends and family used to write to me and send me letters & cards to keep me from becoming homesick yet nobody writes to me now I’m poorly and stuck at home.

Does anyone know where I can find some pen friends?

They usually have a section in the paper classified looking for people - or you could

Look at the local prison / hospice or old people’s home etc

I think letter writing has been made redundant by the digital age unfortunately. However when I was younger I used to write to my older brother who was in the army and I know there was a scheme in place at the time, where you could be a pen pal of the armed forces. It was like a morale booster for the soldiers who were away from home and may not have anyone to write to them etc. I don't know if there is still such a scheme today but may be worth checking out. x

My OH is in the army so I’ll have to ask him about that. Thank you for your suggestion :)

YES! I go crazy if my postman doesn’t stop😂

Yeah, know those feels all too well. I miss the days of the postman coming and there being a handwritten letter in there. I’m only 25 and it already seems like the English Language is becoming somewhat redundant in its written form. Sad really x
