I have fibromyalgia and when I had my scan on my spine these two things shown up on it, a haemangioma and an incomplete butterfly vertebra. Does anybody know what these are as I didn’t have it explained to me! Wondering if it could be why I always have back pain!

Hi there Laurenjf good morning, I looked this up and this is what I found. If you need more information on this I think it would help you to talk with your GP. This may or may not be the cause of your back pain. The best person to tell you that would be your doctor. Hopefully your GP may be able to offer you something to help ease your pain xx

Butterfly vertebra is a type of vertebral anomaly that results from the failure of fusion of the lateral halves of the vertebral body because of persistent notochordal tissue between them.
