Hi Mousey

welcome to our happy little band. Nobody particularly wants to be in our Club but we make the best of a bad deal. You will always find someone here ready and willing to offer advice, listen and understand when you need to rant and also have a laugh about the silly things that happen to fibro folk. No question too silly because someone somewhere will probably have thought the same thing or asked the question in the past. We all support each other as best we can. The site is generally a little quieter at the weekends but no doubt as we are now two minutes into Monday more folk will be along soon to give you a warm welcome.

I WAS SO AFRAID TO JOIN THIS, BUT I SAW SOME POSTS FROM SOME OF Y'ALL,AND I WAS AMAZED AT THE COMPASSION,EVERYONE HAS FOR EACH OTHER.MY HUSBAND KNOWS I HURT AND I M SICK,BUT PEOPLE DON'T REALLY UNDERSTAND HOW THE PHYSICAL PAIN BECOMES MENTALLY EXHAUSETING .

mattoid-mags

WE ARE VERY HAPPY TO HAVE YOU HERE MY FRIEND. THE MORE, THE MERRIER.

AS THE SAYING GOES, " YOU LOOK GOOD, HOW COULD YOU BE SICK?"

SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T GET IT UNLESS THEY WALK IN YOUR SHOES.

MOUSEYG40 profile image
MOUSEYG40

I'VE HAD PEOPLE LOOK AT ME AND SAY, YOU DON'T LOOK SICK,I DO MY BEST TO SMILE AND CARRY ON WITH EVERYONE,I TRY NOT TO LET EVERYONE SEE JUST HOW BAD I REALLY FEEL.

Dinkie profile image
Dinkie in reply to MOUSEYG40

I'VE HAD THE SAME COMMENTS - MY RESPONSE

AND YOU DON'T LOOK STUPID SO I GUESS WE ARE BOTH WRONG

I HAVE A STICKER IN THE BACK OF MY CAR WHICH SAYS "NOT ALL DISABILITIES ARE VISIBLE" HAVE TO SAY THE COMMENTS ARE MUCH REDUCED NOW WHEN I PARK IN A DISABLED PARKING SPACE

MOUSEYG40 profile image
MOUSEYG40

I WOULD NEVER WISH ANY KIND OF SICKNESS ON ANYONE,BUT I KNOW IF SOME PEOPLE HAD TOO WALK IN OUR SHOES,THEY COULDN'T DO IT

mattoid-mags profile image
mattoid-mags

THAT IS VERY TRUE... I'M SO GLAD THAT THERE IS MORE AWARENESS ABOUT FIBROMYALGIA NOW THAT WHAT THERE WAS JUST A FEW SHORT YEARS AGO.

A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE NOW COME TO UNDERSTAND THE CONDITION BUT THERE ARE STILL THOSE WHO DON'T THINK IT IS A GENUINE CONDITION STILL- AND THAT'S SAD AND FRUSTRATING.

MOUSEYG40 profile image
MOUSEYG40

YES ITS VERY SAD, PEOPLE CAN BE SO HURTFUL WITH THEIR OPIONS,OF FIBRO--MS--PTSD--ITS A SHAME.

Hi,

I appreciate that you are finding it easier to read and type in capitals. However on the internet this is seen as shouting. However, beyond this there is the fact that all capitals will make it more difficult for others to read. All Capitals remove the font characteristics that allow people with dyslexia and other visual challenges to be able to dscern different words from each other. As part of our publications guides advice we would not use all capitals with any frequency.

I am sure there are people that will not read your posts due to being in all capitals so your readership will be automatically reduced. There are a number of technological assistantacy methods that may help you work with websites such as windows magnifier or narrator. I would suggest that it may be worth looking into this for your own benefit.

I personally find it much more difficult to read posts in all capitals than normal capitalisation and as such I will not read your posts unfortunately.

some reference information:

dyslexia.ie/information/com...

"For people with dyslexia, the ability to read and understand text can be affected by the way in which text has been written and produced.

If you are producing information to be read by others, it is important to remember that up to 10% of your readers may have dyslexia.

Dyslexia friendly text will have improved readability and better visual impact for all readers, but especially those with dyslexia.

The following are some simple recommendations to help ensure that your text is dyslexia friendly: ... Use lower case letters. Avoid unnecessary use of capitals. Using all capital letters can make it harder to read, and it can also appear that you are shouting at the reader."

Oh no I promise I wouldn't yell at anyone, I am so sorry if I made it harder for anyone to read my posts, and I would never want to hurt anyone's feelings in anyway.thank you so very much for explaining this stuff to me. I am new to the internet,so I really appreciate your advice to me friend,.my oldest son is dyslexic so I understand.hope you have a great day.

this may be of help:

"Built-In Accessibility Features in Android

Mobile devices powered by Google’s Android operating system come with some AT features similar to those in iOS. These can be activated in the Android device’s accessibility settings and apps.

For reading issues: TalkBack is a screen reading feature of Android that uses TTS technology to read aloud text from websites, email and more. The tool’s voice can be changed, and the reading speed can be adjusted.

For writing issues: Like iOS, Android has built-in dictation. By pressing the microphone button in the onscreen Google keyboard, kids can type with their voices into any app. The keyboard also has built-in word prediction, which is active by default. It suggests words that kids might be trying to write as they type.

For motor skills issues: Assistant Menu is a feature that displays an onscreen menu of actions that require motor skills (like adjusting the device’s volume or taking a screenshot). It then offers easier onscreen gestures (usually just a tap or small finger swipe) to complete those actions.

For attention issues: If your child is easily distracted by an app’s bells and whistles, the accessibility feature called Interaction could help. This tool lets you disable certain app features so your child won’t be tempted to use them.

For organization issues: Like iOS, Android devices also have a built-in calendar tool. This tool can help kids remember important dates and tasks."
