Hi, Has your employer given you reason to believe they may end your employment? Any warnings? 🙂

Hi Hun, I was off work on and off due to my health issues and then eventually ended up being off for a year. It was at this point that my employers terminated my contract on the grounds of ill health.

Basically I think it depends on your employers sickness policy more than anything and how sympathetic they are. My experience with my nhs employers may not be the same for everyone.

Good luck with what you’re going through Hun and let us know how you get on with your employers.

Take care and my thoughts are with you xx

There is a process they would have to go through first. I have just been through a reasonable adjustments meeting and various things were put in place to make my working life that little bit easier. Access to work have a website with some helpful advice. It's a balancing act as employers need staff to be available and reliable but equally employees may need help to ensure they work to their best abilities. There needs to be open dialogue between you both. If you have a union rep then seek their advice earlier rather than later. Also you are entitled to have someone with you at any interview/meeting.
