Hi everyone, Being a florist [as was before my bad hands] , gardeners will like this too . I just found out a really interesting fact about Bruce Forsyth . His great- great- great- great grandfather William Forsyth [1737-1804] was a founder of the Royal Horticultural Society and the namesake of the plant genus Forsythia .

I just thought that interesting , and thought I'd share it. Hope your day is a bright and happy one , love Mandy xxx

Thanks Mackembabe, I hoped someone would like it. If the weather stays like this, the bushes will be getting their buds too early !! [I've probably put a jinx on that now eh?] I too, like to see the flame of yellow. Spring will be here before we know it. Let's hope the Winter is a short one....??? love Mandy xx

Hi Dizzytwo , I have also got plants coming back into bud !. Also, there is my lovely raspberry bush too, which is still producing fruit....lovely on my breakfast . Can't wait to have my daffs and crocus's again . They are such a joy. I really miss working with flowers, but maybe ,one day when my operation is done, and I'm feeling better ?? I may try and do a little bit again. I planted Eryngium this year along with Liatris ,and Phlox . Long stems so as to put in vases. I was really pleased with them. But I'm a sucker for viola's and pansies, and the bedding season....roll on Spring I say.

Ahh Mandy a florist wonderful I love doing floral arrangements never got to go to college as fibro kicked in have been a gardener for 34 years having said that the 1st year I have not done much. It's amazing what you can grow to use in a display. That's interesting fact ,forsythia is a lovely shrub when in flower. Do you watch Monty Don on gardening world lovely chappie Nigel and Nelly he's 2 lovely dogs, I remember awhile back when the dog Nellie came on the scene she was given Nigel a real round around I was watching their antics and not concentrating on Monty. I like love your garden when titchmarsh surprises someone and re vamps their garden in need has me in tears and I noticed he has been too when talking to the affected people. Xx

I agree, flowers and plants are such a great way to make someone smile. When those families get the chance to see their gardens come to life, vibrant and wonderfully planted, it makes for a really touching watch. I too can't do loads in the garden, if I do, my body knows It !! But when the sun shines, you sometimes get carried away. luv Mandy.xx
