,Burnt fingers!
Oh anbuma, It is so easy to do with flipping fibro. I hope you havnt burnt yourself too badly.
I seem to get minor burns two or three times a week, I burnt my finger last night getting tea out of the oven rather than shout for help.
I hope that the stinging soon stops.

Hello sue,I have so many scars on my arms where I catch myself on the oven when taking stuff out.fingers are slightly swollen but they are anyway.skin all intact, just ordered two fire blankets.at least my kitchen didn't go up in smoke like before!.
Oh dear, how are you doing? I think we all need a minder in the kitchen. Hope you are ok. Lou xxx
Yes I'm fine.as skin not broken don't think there's any damage underneath.
Hi all
I saw an article can't remember where but it was about burns, well apparently if you burn yourself put flour yes flour on the burn it absorbs the heat from the burn and aids healing no scares, well so this article says, the person now keeps a bag of flour in her fridge for when she does burn her hand she pops it straight into the cold flour.
Iv not had the need thank goodness to use this but will try it if the need arises.

hi Grannircrochet.not heard of that one.do know that need to hold it under running cold water for about 10 minutes+.i sat with mine in a bowl of water for about 2 hours.its fine this morning tho still swollen.
I don't think you do ,I wish I could rember where I saw this, all I can suggest is try it ,I know I will if I burn myself.
Let me know if it works if you use it, hope you don't .xx
Touch wood myburns have not been serious .
heed janeyn s reply.
Under no circumstances do put any thing but cold water on burns and scolds as nothing else works it doesn't take the heat out and when you do then have to have it treated it will take the skin of as the flour sticks to the skin I have seen this so many times these old wives tales then patients come into hospital and loose more skin than they would of originally. You should put it under the tap for at least 10-20 minutes if there is any blistering the best dressing is cling film because the Drs can see through it if it on the hands or anywhere else bigger than your hand ( for adult) must be seen in hospital children and babies should be seen in hospital
That sounds awful for you. I hope that your hand isn't too badly burned? As mayrose says, it is easily done with Fibro.
Take care

I had a similar instance,I was dishing up dinner oven glove on right hand, took plate out of oven, put on worktop, lifted baking tray over to plate, then without thinking picked hot plate up in left hand with no glove, such pain, filled sink with running cold water and put hand into that for 20mins,whilst standing there gently sobbing I remembered something I had seen on tv ages ago I whisked up an egg white until very fluffy, then dried my burned fingers with a clean cloth, then kept dipping my hand in the egg white. As it drys it seals the area, and the albumen helps with the healing.I put a cotton glove on overnight. That was a week ago and all three fingers are completely healed,no blisters and only one had some dried skin which flaked off. I now have a little jar of egg white ready to shake and apply in the fridge, for next time!!!
Hi I've done that so many times too.carefully taking tray from oven putting it down to serve up food and then without thinking picking up hot tray after hanging up oven gloves(I have double ones).can get oven gloves or cloth that are extra thick(Lakeland Plastics sell them I believe)and some that are extra long to protect arms.think I need them ones.I don't put my plates in oven.!
