Hi everyone, I'm a 30 year old woman and I have 3 children my youngest is 14 months delivered by c-section, for the past 12 months I have had the most excruciating pelvic pain! I can walk short amounts like from the car to the school gates but then I'm limping in agony on the way back to the car, I can't lift my legs by myself either. If been back and forth to the doctors and I'm being sent for a pelvic ultrasound and an Mri, just recently iv also been having an awful twisting pain when going to the toilet (no2) like my whole bowl is twisting and then the pain goes after a couple of minutes, could this be related? I'm needing to urinate more frequently aswel, does anyone have any idea what could be going in with Me? Thank you in advance for any replies x

Pelvic pain, can barely walk pls help..
I hope the ct and ultrasound and MRI show what your problems are, can I ask did you put on a lot of weight with your pregnancy-does it need to come off? Do you get pelvic pain when a period is due? How much rest did you get after the c section? that IS major surgery hun.
Iv always been a big girl I'm quite tall aswel, but I actually lost weight with my 3rd pregnancy and then went on to lose an extra stone, it's constant pain, nothing triggers it, it's there all the time x
Sorry you learn of your distress..
All l can say is that after a lifetime of painful hips and groin pain which over the years has got progressively worse, difficulty walking now coupled with bowel problems my GP arranged an x-ray which showed congenital bilateral coxa vagus hips..
Waiting now for results of MRI scan.
I am not expecting a miracle but knowing what is causing the pain helps.
You really do have my sympathy as groin pain in sickening...
All the best.
Hi Carla, sorry to hear of your pain and distress and also the impact it's having on your mobility. This has been going on a long time without diagnosis - hasn't it - 12 months! Have you told your GP about these new symptoms with the bowel? Also the bladder frequency? I am not medically qualified, but was wondering if you've noticed any change in bowel frequency or stools? Seems like you have some bowel dysfunction, but what's causing it?
Do you know why you lost all that weight? Was it intentional - due to low calorie, reducing diet and increased exercise? Have you done any strenuous exercise? If not has GP considered IBD? Do you have any symptoms of Colitis or Crohn's?
Have you had any investigations under Colorectal Specialist or Gastroenterologist? Have you had any blood tests? Has Thyroid been checked, particularly Antibodies?
I have numerous bowel conditions. Have had Diverticular since I was 30. I suffered constipation and bowel dysfunction on and off. Have the Autoimmune Disease - Hashimoto's Thyroiditis which causes Hypothyroidism. This wasn't diagnosed and treated until 2011 and constipation is one of the symptoms. I have Intussuception, the Sigmoid colon & Rectum collapse into each other like a telescope. Also have large hernia (rectocele), prolapsed womb and total weakness of Pelvic floor. So as bowels fill up pressure is put on the bladder which needs emptying before half full. I couldn't move at all on one occassion when bowels were full and pressure was on lower spine.
I manage my conditions by keeping bowels moving with healthy diet of fruit and root veg. Potatoes instead of bread, drinking lots of water, no cheese etc. At first I had to do lots of Pelvic Floor exercises.
In 2013 I had a Transvaginal Ultrasound scan. It revealed a Fibroid OUTSIDE the womb. I always thought I had a fibroid, but they just did Pelvic Ultrasound and said "no fibroids". It is shaped like an inverted toadstool above and pushing down into the uterus. I believe that's called concave womb??
You could have something completely different.
I actually put on lots of weight over the years (5st) due to the Underactive Thyroid, poor mobility and numerous 'mystry' illnesses.
I hope the MRI scan reveals what's happening and also the Pelvic Ultrasound. I hope they also do an Intrenal / Transvaginal Ultrasound as with both you may get a fuller picture.
Hope you get a full diagnosis soon. Meanwhile, avoiding straining at stool and drinking extra water may help a little.
All the best xx
Hi Mary, yes they will be doing an internal scan aswel on the 31st of this month, I have no trouble actually going to the toilet I just experience a twisting in my stomach, I kept getting told that I had groin strain but I know it's not! So I seen another doctor and she thinks it's to do with my pelvic muscles. I also get a bit of pain where my left ovary is... if had bloods done in the past and I was low in vit d but they said my thyroid tests came back ok. Xx
Hi Carla
It might be worth enquiring what actual Thyroid tests you had done and getting the results, numbers and normal ranges in brackets. Sometimes they just test T4 and TSH. That's how I was wrongly told that my Thyroid was OK when it isn't. Thyroid Antibodies and FreeT3 & FreeT4 are more conclusive tests. You can ask receptionist for a print out of your blood results or phone whoever gives the results out and ask them to read out the details while you write them down.
About Vitamin D what dose did your GP start you on? Did you need the loading doses first?
I used to have pain in the area of my left ovary. Have had diverticulitis in the Sigmoid colon also though.
All your pain came on just 2 months after your c-section , - does seem like some pelvic floor weakness a possibility doesn't it? Maybe bowel was somehow compromised during surgery ?? If the twisted pain gets really bad have you considered A&E? . I suppose you'd rather hang on another couple of weeks, though.
