Anyone had acupuncture and is ...
I went once. Prior to the fibro diagnosis. It caused so much pain I never went back. I have discovered I get great results from a full body massage
I was considering this treatment actually
hello have had it for drug addiction, your mind has to be open to it, and then it can be relaxing like massage is. l prefer massage, but I do know people that find having acipunture helps them relax. Massage can also be painful if it is not done right. x
i love hot stone massages but i have to not be in a flare up for anybody to even go near me! the person who did me one before then massages the shoulders whilst the hot stones are down the spine, was really nice
I have found Traditional Chinese style Acupupuncture very helpful with a practitioner whith advanced training qualifications, but I had tried 4 Acupunctuists before this to find one with enough experience. Two previous ones did not have a clue and another one was negligent. So my advice would be to research before you choose
I personally haven't but when I was well and looking after my husband with all of his conditions (back problems) being just one of them I used to take him for years once a week. It seamed to help him out even if it was for a couple of days after the treatment, anything is a bonus when your in bad pain. Xx
Depends where you are intending to have it? Ive had my cocxy, knees, hands and fingers done it works for a while but you need to continue with it .
I have my coccyx treated about every 5/6 weeks as well as rest of body treated as whole body, but have had help with individual symptoms like knee problems, Caz-54 is correct in saying one needs to continue with it. It can help in many ways and give one mental strength to feel positive rather than negative. I look forward to going for treatments to give me that boost.
It is now available on the NHS incase people didnt know.
Caz- not where I live.
Everyone has to learn somewhere and on some people, sorry you got a bad one, I have paid to use a chinese acupuncturist but didnt feel he was any better than the NHS Physio who seemed well informed how to administer it.
Sorry caz-54, I deleted my reply because I was not happy with it.
I have good results from regular acupuncture for the inflammation / tenderness in my pelvis and lower back. There is always increased tenderness the day of treatment though but I ice and rest for a few hours.

Too sore for me.
I used to have electro acupuncture on my back through the A NHS which took the too I edge of the I pain off but unfortunately they withdrew a the service. I found the NHS needle acupuncture useless but have had some relief from the acupuncture I pay privately for as it is more tailor-made to my condition. Everyone is different in what help it gives so certainly worth a try.x
Yes
Personally the normal acupuncture never seemed to help me, but I did try battlefield acupuncture, which was fantastic for a while, but the effects wore off
Best wishes
Yes. I've been having acupuncture every week for the past 5 weeks. It has not helped my fibro or CFS. I bought a block of 6 sessions so my 6th and last session is this Fri.
