Morning I'm glad you have a referral for both symptoms you are suffering with and that they don't take long for appointments to come in the post ,Many of us have fibromyalgia as the main condition I can tick some of your boxes above are you working not sure what age group you are in ? Think pacing yourself in between your day warm bath with Epsom salts , finding a cream you can rub on your muscles joints is helpful , has the doctor given any advice about what pain killers you can use, I know with everybody it is trail and error about what suits, properly once you've had the Rhuematolist appointment to see if you have fibromyalgia your Gp can then act on what's best for you. I've found that now I've found a good doctor that listens and understands he keeps me on his appointment list rather than chop and change he/she can then follow your progress and know your medical history. I have had scan and have osteopenia I was told to take calcium tablets (holland Barrett do some ver good products )eat a well balanced diet no heavy lifting. lite excercise walking swimming . Keep us posted how you get on and welcome to you x

Hi Yasmintina

Thanks for replying so quickly.

I do work, minimal hours and not stressful. I am early 60's

I had Graves disease 10 years ago, meds did not bring hyper levels down so had radioactive iron. On 100 levothyroxine. Have low vit D, had details scan, Gp put me on Ad-cal. i am taking pure supplements to help my self,Gp ok with that do all I can to take control of my own health, as find gp's not clued up on thyroid problems.

Will only test Tsh and T4!

Through supplements my thyroid levels looking better, had a private thyroid panel done, that was highlighted as raised TPO.

I do take Epsom salt baths, and soak my feet in bowl. Eat healthy, lost nearly two stone earlier in year! Now down to 10 1/2 stone, so not overweight. I do walk along, well did, due to exhaustion and muscles have to pace myself. Cannot lift due to upper arm shoulder muscle weakness and pain. It has now got to point where it's impinging on my life, end of my tether with it all. Off on hols 5 days time, never been so unorganised

Pleased you have a understanding Doctor xx

Are you on thyroid replacement ? If yes it's highly likely your dose isn't quite right which will cause other problems and lots of symptoms, post your results on thyroiduk forum for advice.

Hi there Louby- Welcome to our very friendly forum, You seem to have a lot going on at the moment I am sorry to read. Hopefully when if you get a fibro diagnosis your GP will be able to offer you advice on the medications that are available. They don't suit or help everyone sadly but you won't know till you have tried. Sorry your doctor is not so understanding it is a major tool in the when have one on board that that's for sure.

You may like to take a look at our mother site it has a wealth of information you may find helpful. fmauk.org I hope you have a lovely time on your holiday xx

Hello hun welcome to fibro world!! Most on this forum have fibro and related illnesses, I am osteopaenic I believe due to too much steroid injection into my muscles that spread throughout my body, having said that I visited an orthopod this week for calcium crystal deposits in my shoulders, he IS willing to inject areas only ( not entire body) as the injjection stays localised, my eyes are sensitive to light I believe this is excessive tiredness, I sweat a lot like menopausal sweats but I.m passed that age so I assume its meds, many of us have experienced regular fatigue to the level of exhaustion, we are told fibro sufferers have to learn to adjust activity to a pacing stance- yes it means a lot of things had to stop like biking, dancing, long walks and shopping! There is light at the end of the tunnell a good rheumo doc will sort you, let us know how you get on we are interested to know what various consultants have to say and what they recommend-I have stuck with hydrotherapy for 14 years. we have a thyroid forum linked to us were you might get help and advise, use My communities drop down its in there.

Hi Louby, sorry you have such a dreadful 3 months my love but it's good that you have been referred to a Rheumatologist. If it transpires that you do have fibro then you have found the right place to get information as well as support and advice. Good luck hun and welcome to the forum. xxx
