Sorry you are struggling with this-The one thing I found helpful was soaking my hands in warm-hot water often. My fingers are often terrible on a morning so after a hot (ish) shower I fill the sink and soak my hands, it doesn't take the pain away but helps with stiffness
Hi I have the most pain at the base of my thumbs and palms I find something as easy as placing a small rubber ball on the table and rolling my hands back and forth over it bring me some relief a bit like a massage. π»X

Hi hun, sorry your holiday is suffering- I have arthralgia in my hands and I soak them in warm water, pat them dry then apply voltarol gel and put white gloves on. Ive also found some medical gloves on ebay that have copper dots here and there to relieve suffering, maybe try in on feet too? then go to elbows.
That's I can't believe all the good advice everyone is giving me and that others have the same problem it's wierd but oddly comforting at the same time if you know what I mean
Please can I add as a therapist... or was prior to this π. Anyway ... yes hot water may be great but can I add that it isn't great for your skin as it strips essential oils so afterwards can cause itching... so if you are having ... hot baths, showers or washing up... please moisturise after adding the creams for pain.
If washing up in very hot water...
Can I suggest...
1 pair of cotton gloves
Your cream/ gel of pain relief
I pair of rubber gloves.
Smother hands in cream/gel
Put on cotton gloves
Put on rubber gloves and you will still get the heat without damaging your hands and can keep them in the water longer
( please be careful if diabetic as your sensors are not the same and you could get burnt )
Hello. I do empathise as my hands, fingers and wrists ache so badly every day. It's worse in the mornings when I first wake up, they are stiff and painful. I have a glove that fits around a mug so I can carry a mug of tea in both hands. I cannot carry plates of food. I often have to get my husband to cut up food. I cannot grate any foods (I buy chopped onions and grated cheese life's too short). I cannot peel vegetables, so my lovely husband does everything I cannot do.
I use a rub on my hands two or three times a day, it helps a little.
It's awful isn't it. I'm lucky like you that my partner does do a lot for me, I can't carry plates and cups easily either and he sometimes has to cut my food up. I often drop things at work too which isn't good because I'm in charge of stocking the shelves π
Hi Does the wax bath help? I can recall years ago my Nan had terrible pain in her hands and used a wax bath. I cant remember whether she ever said it helped?
I have pain in my hands also, sometimes they jerk and I drop things a lot. I use hemp oil with some drops of black pepper essential oil a few times a day, it keeps my skin soft and gives some relief. My doctor gave me a cream called Pernaton, it's cool at first then hot helps for a while. It takes time to find something that works even if it's only for a short time it's worth it.
