Did u go from pregabalin to gabapentin? If so I went onto tramadol next still on it now. Next step for me is fentanyl or morphine
Hi doll. Have you ever been on Pregabalin? Very similar medication that works in the same way but is technically more effective on paper and so requires a smaller dosage. Some respond to one better than the other.
The max dosage of Pregabalin for example is 600mg, quite a big difference in dosages between Pregabalin and Gabapentin xx
I was giving pregablin for pain haven't took them yet very concerned about the side affect
What dosage have you been prescribed? Are there any side effects that you are more worried about than others hun? xx
75mg concerned about the light headed anxious
That's generally the starting dose so any potential side effects shouldn't be too extreme. Pregabalin doesn't generally cause anxiety and light headedness. It may cause drowsiness in the beginning especially after an increase in dosage but that will likely subside after a while of being in the medication.
As for the anxiety, it's actually more likely to help with anxiety than to cause it. It is a licenced medication used to treat anxiety disorders xx
yes 3600mg is maximum gabapentin . I take lamitrigine, naproxen, cocodamol as well as 2700mg gabapentin. tried tramadol and upset my bowel, pregabl7n didn't work -weaker than gabapentin apparently. I have had spells of morphine when needed. Hope you get something sorted xxxx
I was on a total of 1.2g a day (split into 3 doses) of gabapentin before I changed to pregabalin. I would have a chat about the alternatives. Pregabalin has worked so much better for me and I didn't not need any other medication with it unless I have a flare up. Medication for fibro is a bit of trial and error as each person has a different response to medication and a different main focus for pain relief.
indeed ednu medication is so trial and error let alone being the most frustrating ever, thinking yes this will work, then doesn't or it works so well for months or even years then suddenly it no longer works!
