Hi this is Missymaz and I've been wondering if many people get or got marginalised at their work to the point of server depression, which I was. I have now retired and happier for it.

I'm not sure what marginalized means? If you mean look down on because they were ill then that is just people… And some can be really mean. I get more free advice from people noticing that I have a heavy limp and I care for and usually it's I do this and I did that and I am fine… Well that's good but I bet you haven't walked a mile in my shoes not even 10 feet so don't even go there…
Enjoy your retirement and don't look back is all I would say. People are people and should not be listening to except on this forum that is my dear have a good evening
Marginalised, management, complaining about hospital appointments, refused access to staff areas and facilities because they were on the first floor, not allowed a chair on duty in the playground etc and so on Ocupational Health realy wanted me to take them to court because they were doing the same to another couple of colleagues, ( which I new nothing of at the time because of gagging orders ) whom they payed off in the end.
I was just interested if this sort of thing had happened to others
Previous management were brilliant, this just started when we became an academy. after I had sent my letter of resignation they asked me to reconsider and work things out , this was before I'd heard from Ocupational Health.
I recently had an email from them asking me if I would consider going back. ha ha

hi mizzymaz, I retired last year from NHS after "marginalisation/bullying" from 4 individuals who called themselves nurses- theatre workers are far from "nurses" just those who moved to theatres from general nursing, those who studied for degrees in theatres do not have the same persona as the rest, because of shortages they were never dealt with until I brought our Union in (one came as an agency nurse just to see what we were complaining about) it took 8 months before the perpetrators were dealt with by that time I had sort early retirement
Hi Daz-54 hope your feeling better since you left, I certainly do, and like you got early retirement cos I couldn't cope with a fight. I'm so happy I don't have to deal with the panic of going into work anymore. Hope you are feeling better that way as well. It's shameful and saddening that this sort of thing goes on but in my case management and the academy's need for perfection beat me, my wellbeing and health were more important. I hope your life and wellbeing is better for your your retirement and wish you all the happiness.
