Hello All, I am new to this site and I am hoping for some reassurance. For about a year now I have battled with painful feet, shoulders, but of recent my thighs have started aching and burning. I have noticed that when I squat, the muscles in my thighs go crazy, twitching and rippling. I am so afraid that it is more than fibro. Does anyone experience anything similar?

Scary Symptoms
Hello Brendwill- are you taking any meds for the feet/shoulder pain? Do you have a daily exercise routine at all-maybe a physio has given you some? The thighs are the worst in me for pain, I cannot squat as I cannot get up, amazingly I can immersed in deep water at a hydro pool where I go for therapies. Ive now got to the lower leg muscles twitching and going numb and to stretch those is a nightmare-I think I may have hurst my arches trying to do this.. How much outside help do you have hun-like physio or occ therapy?
Hidden Thank you for commenting. I try and use all the natural remedies, eating healthy. I have got myself back in the pool for a swimming session, hoping this will help. Also trying the deep fascia rolling, but I suffer the day after. Physio doing some massaging, which does help a lot. Also seeing an OT who does some brushing to assist with the over stimulation. It is tough considering I was a super fit individual and now I battle to even walk without any pain.
Hi BrendWill Welcome to our wonderful forum, I'm sure you will love it and find it invaluable chatting to others who are going through the same as you, at different stages of their lives with fibromyalgia7.
I'm sorry you are in pain, I'm afraid all the symptoms you are displaying are very much fibro related and if you check out the nhs symptom checker on Google. It will give those results.
You have done the best thing you could do by joining the forum, you can ask lots of questions and you will come to terms with it, have a better understanding of Fibromyalgia, this will in turn make you more equipped to manage it. It doesn't come overnight, it is a chronic pain condition and there are many complex symptoms.
Please do go check out the mother site fmauk.org where you will find lots of useful information and links on fibro and I look forward to chatting with you on the forum
Peace, luv n light

Thank you so much for the responses. As a once healthy 41 year old male, I am battling to come to terms with how the pain has taken over. It all started after I snapped my achilles tendon in a gym session. The doctors think it was stress/trauma that triggered it. It has moved from my hands, to my arms and throughout my body. It seems to find a home somewhere for awhile and then move to the next best part - not sure if this is all related. Spent a lot of time researching, but glad to have joined this group.
Hidden Thank you for the comforting response. I have been trying the healthy route and have an array of vitamins that await me each morning. The pain in my thighs and the constant burning is the worst. Last night was a tough one. Thank you for comforting words.
It's a relief to read so many others have the same problem with muscle spasms. My left arm is so painful with them as are my hands when driving. My hands 'lock'.
I keep worrying it's something more than fibro too.
number55 Just a thought . When I first had fibro literally couldn't hold the steering wheel without discomfort especially in cold or very hot weather. I bought a Halfords steering wheel cover which was made of plush material. It was only about £10. Makes the steering wheel "fatter" so easier to hold. Isn't cold to the touch but let's you grip easier in hot weather. The first one lasted 5 years and now on my second.x
I have something similar, where my fingers lock. I have random aches in my shoulders, arms. It is a real nasty thing. Strength your way.
