Hi
Hello and welcome to our lovely forum everyone's supportive and caring here.
We are here whenever you need to chat. The mother site will help with any questions and research fmauk.org.
The homepage had lots of information available and pinned posts on navigation and locking posts. If you are unable to see them it could be because you're on a mobile so pleasr do let us know.
Referrals are usually made from GP to rheumatologists.
Good luck my friend
Thankyou very much i did see a neuro on weds and he mentioned sending me to rheumo and also did bloods x
I recently saw Stroke Neuro who would not manage me & referred me bk to GP.
I have had bloods & scans which are all clear.
What can I do next.
Do anything have to be picked up in scans or bloods for Fibro diagnosis
I'm at end of tether with no help
Hi there
Unfortunately it can take many many years to get a definitive diagnosis of Fibromyalgia due to the complexities of the condition.
Unfortunately nothing at all shows up in bloods, scans etc.
That is another reason why it is so hard to diagnose.
If you take a look at our mother site you will find lots of info about Fibro on there fmauk.org
Good luck on your journey.

I'm in the middle of the Neuro and Rheumy.
I saw a neuro at xmas when i was took in for stroke symptoms i have a few issues going on they found a cavernoma in my brain but is incidental and not related to symptoms they diacharged me saying is fuctional weakness so was sent to a physcologist who agreed with me that they have not done enough test to rule it down to stress x
That's exactly what they thought happened to me. The Neuro I saw yesterday who referred bk to GP is a stroke doctor & said Fibro isn't his specialty.
So I'm waiting to see GP. Will I have something to stop tiredness & pain
Hello Besty
Welcome to the forum
To answer your question it can take years and years to get a definitive diagnosis of Fibromyalgia.
If you are just asking which consultant you need to see as a rule of thumb Rheumatologists are the ones who generally diagnose Fibro, however Neurologists are increasingly diagnosing it too now.
You may like to look into locking your posts. Here is a link to an easy to follow guide on how to do this:

Hi Besty
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance.
I was diagnosed by a private consultant after I started having pain and balance issues. I had quite a bad fall one day and decided it was time to see somebody.
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
