Fibro

Hello

I am Laa and I am 54 years of age. I have three children and a dog, I was diagnosed with Fibro four years ago and have never really looked in to it much. Just tried different tablets from the docs. I was sent to the pain clinic and basically the consultant ridiculed fibro and told me to walk my Granddaughter to school and start swimming then signed me off.

Hope to get to know some of you here and learn some more about how to help myself.

I am sorry to hear of your experiences with your doctor. Sometimes I wish people would positive with their answers. I feel like if anyone has pain that they at least deserve acknowledgement of the pain. Though I am by no expert but exercise is supposed to help. You can find lots of information on fibromyalgia on the sites to the right of this page. Take care.

Hi justlaa

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted for you below a link to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

I am so truly sorry to read of your awful experience with your pain clinic and you can make a complaint if you feel that you wanted too? It is inexcusable and unprofessional to ridicule a patient in this manner.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hello justlaa

Welcome to our lovely forum :)

I am sorry to hear of your experience. Sadly is not an uncommon one.

My personal advice to you would be to ask for a referral to a Pain Clinic at a different hospital.

Either that or ask for a referral to see a Rheumatologist who should be able to help you with various medications.

You may like to look into locking your posts. If you click on the blue line below an easy to follow guide to how to do this will pop up:

If you still need some help, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Once again a very warm welcome :)

Wishing you a peaceful day (we can but hope!)
