Afternoon all. Just got back from my G.P he's wants me to go and see a neurologist querying M.S πŸ€• not sure how I'm feeling right now, all I know is that I don't want it. Please God don't let me have that too.

Wishing you all a positive happy afternoon.

Hi Jennifer2017buddy oh I am sorry, how worrying for you. All I can say, is that some of fibro symptoms can mimic MS and some people have something which is called Peripheral Neuropathy, which is a result of damage to your nreves. I have nerve damage in my feet & my back and it gives you some strange sensations. At least your gp is on the ball & not putting you off with saying, it's fibro related, which sometimes happens.

I hope you don't have MS & i know it's easy to say, but please try not to worry to much my friend, because this will make you feel worse and it could be for nothing & i hope it is.

Do come back and let us know how you get on and I wish you lots of luck.

Luv Jan xx

Hi :)

I was diagnosed with Fibro & ME in 1980. As our Jan Janet28 has said, Fibro symptoms are very similar to MS.

A GP I saw a couple of years ago said that I had the propensity to develop MS in the future.

All I could think about for weeks (probably months) was that I may develop MS.

I have since changed surgeries and my current GP has just rubbished what he said.

I now don't know what to think!

As has been said at least your GP is looking after you and is referring you so that, hopefully (fingers crossed) MS can be ruled out.

I'm not going to say don't worry because that's impossible, but try to fill your mind with other things.

Doing things like crosswords are especially good as they take up all your concentration.

Please let us know how you get on and when your appointment is.

Be kind to yourself

Lu xx

Hello, I am very sorry to hear of your news. As others have said fibro is a mimic of many conditions and the symptoms often cross over. You cannot do anything until you have seen the consultant and had various tests, so please try not to make your fibro symptoms worse with the stress and worry, although that is difficult I know.

As Lu says, distraction is a help, and you certainly have enough distraction with your young family!!

Xx

Thank you everyone for all your lovely advice. I can only think positive and hope for the best. Xxx
