My feet certainly swell in hot humid weather and if I walk too far for my own good. Soak in cold water always helps me, maybe worth a try....xx

Hello, I notice this is your first post with us so I would like to welcome you to our friendly fibro forum where you can find help, advice, support and understanding. Our mother site fmauk.org has a wealth of information, including guides and links.

I cannot speak for other members but I do suffer with swollen feet and ankles like you and it can be a right bind to wear shoes which "give"

It is worse in the heat, is that the same as you? My doctor just says to raise my legs from time to time and doesn't seem particulary concerned in my case.

However, it can be a sign of something quite serious so I suggest if this is a recent symptom, that you see your GP to make sure. Take a photo of your feet so he can see them at their worst.

Looking forward to seeing you around the forum.

Kay

Good morning and welcome to our group kerrys-counselling I also have swollen feet at times not sure swollen feet are related to my fibro to be honest. For me it is water, weight and heat related. plus not moving much can certainly make my feet swell.

Please feel welcomed to the group xx

Hi kerrys-counselling , welcome to the forum.

I have ME and fibromyalgia and I have to say in my experience no, I don't have issues with swollen joints or feet etc. Belly yes, but not joints 😜. Though that is down to IBS that often goes hand in hand with ME.

From all the research I have done I would say, in my opinion, swelling is not a symptom of ME. And as far as I'm aware it's not a typical symptom of fibro. Though it may be because if you are not active due to either or both conditions then perhaps your body is having issues getting rid of excess fluid.

To be honest I would suggest you check with your GP in case their is some other underlying issue. Can't do any harm.

Gentle hugs, Margaret. xxx 💜🤗💜🤗💜

Hi my friend

The official NHS line is that Fibro is not an inflammatory condition and that any swellings are either from a secondary condition or as a result of medication. What I would suggest to anyone suffering with this issue is talk to their doctor about their oedema and try to ascertain the cause?

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

hello. my feet do swell up and my hands also, even had to remove my wedding ring as it was uncomfortable. they do go down though. I also notice that like clockwork every other month my ears swell up and really hurt inside and my jawline too. I cannot chew food as I can't close my jaw together. have to bite and chew with front nashers or eat soup lol
