Anxiety
I suffer with anxiety since having fibromyalgia- but I have just had to be strong with myself - and I have now learnt to calm myself down - and I have a very supportive partner who talks things through with me - I also plan most things I do in advance - I find that helps - I also have a relaxation tape , and I go for a swim if I feel stressed - you need to find something you love to do to take your mind off your anxiety - I also bake and paint (not at the same time!!!😊). neese
Thank you neese. I went down the benzo route for 2 years and got addicted. Im going though withdrawal now which is aggravating my fibromyalgia with high anxiety.
I have had horrendous side effects with drugs I have been drug free for about 4 months now - its hard sometimes to get my legs moving and cope with pain but I cannot deal with the drugs - intolerances, - the itchiness high temperature low temperature - headaches, dry mouth, hair loss , weight gain , then I had swollen face and the most awful bruising - I am doing better without - I concentrate on quality of life - swim, aqua , socialising, and eating well - no process, no gluten, no wheat, no sugar , - good luck with getting off the meds. - its tough been there done that. - Neese. ☺
Hello ris52, no wonder you are feeling stressed. Once you are through, getting off your meds and clean you should feel more normal. Meds can make you feel very brittle and crazy.
To help I would make sure you are eating well and healthily and that your tummy is tip top. Probiotics to repopulate your gut. Vits B12 (sublingual is best) and b vits in general because stress uses up your B vits. Magnesium too is relaxing. A good multi vit is sensible in case your diet is lacking. This time of year is is easier to get hold of home grown unsprayed veggies and fruit. People keep saying bone broth is the thing for health if you can bear the smell. I know people who say they owe their recovery to healthy soups. Also now the weather is nice, get some rays on your skin and take some exercise to what you can do. The warmer weather makes exercise more pleasant and easier. It will cheer you up too. I mean walking probaly.
Tummy bacteria is vital not only to good digestion but also good brain health. Look it up on line. There are articles now linking poor mental health to limited gut bacteria colonies. IBS sufferers have been told for years 'it's just stress', now it seems, they feel stress, because their tummies are poorly and unable to get all the nutrients to feed their hungry brains.
No amount of positive mental attitude is going to fix how the gut is lacking the necessary bacteria to digest their food. A person has to work at building back their colonies.
I've done it and recovered quite a bit from how poorly I was. Good probiotics were the key for me but it has taken time to feel better. My tum was so bad I could barely eat any healthy foods as they simply wouldn't digest but just sit and ferment. I take my B12 D3 K2, Probiotics x2 daily with veggie meals. (they like fibre.) For me it is likely I will need probiotics long term, others may need a course and then take a maintenance dose to ensure they stay well.
I hope you get your anxiety under control soon. It is a horrid feeling. Worth remembering, it is just a feeling. The fear and dread doesn't mean anything bad will happen. I was thinking the other day as I watched a sad prog on TV, I haven't cried in ages now and the prog didnt provoke actual tears. That is a massive improvement for me.
Thank you
Hi Riz .I'm Country gal I know about panic and anxiety as I as well as others suffer from it. I'M finding that I have to occupy my mind doing all sorts of stuff .Such as learning a hobby when it hits then do it.That's what I do I have so many hobbies now that I do whatever closest when it starts.lol I know that sounds silly but for me it works. Then I can start relaxing . As I'm not got my head rushing everywhere. Love your friend Country gal
Thank you
Your welcome
Hi ris2
I was put on busporone for anxiety I think that is the spelling lol.
Anxiety is a very difficult thing to handle and the pain can make it very excessive.
The GP will let you know what the best meds are as it depends on interaction with other meds and you background and current medical conditions. So as I am not a professional could you speak to your GP.
Good luck my friend
Thank you
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
